We are local Guides of the Commune13 Medellin, we have experienced the changes that our neighborhood has given which we know all the history that has been lived in it, going from being the most conflictive and dangerous place in Medellin to now be number 1 place to visit, Its streets, its people, its art, the electric scales and its Graffiti Tour are an example that can be reborn after living so many armed conflicts.

We did the graffiti tour in Comuna 13 with Juan, who grew up there and lived through the violent times this place has seen. He is a really good guide, gave us lots of information about Comuna 13, how the farmers that got robbed of their lands arrived there, on the confict between the guerillas and why it was for them such a strategic place to control, the military operations led by the government, and insights on how it was to live there.
He also showed us how people reinvented the place through art, and explained us the meaning of the different murals that you can see here.
It was an amazing tour, I highly recommend it!

Christian P was an EXCELLENT tour guide. We really enjoyed understanding the crazy history that has shaped this community. It’s beautiful, vibrant, fun, and most importantly, it is very safe. There are lots of places to eat and drink and get a very different and authentic perspective of what it was like to grow up in Columbia during all of the Gang, government, and guerilla violence as well as to learn about the amazing people who collaborated over many years to transform this neighborhood into what it is today. we highly recommend this tour! Thank you Christian sharing so much of your knowledge with us and making it so much fun!

Great tour and although we were in a group we all had the attention of our great guide “Jason” . We met at the metro and they were there as pre arranged and we all introduced ourselves. Then we got a bus to start the tour. Our guide then gave us a rough idea of how far we would be going and approximate times.
We were informed about the past struggles and how Comuna 13 is progressing and being an example how places can change for the better. We were shown all the main spots and murals, escalators and how life was before the very important escalators with the stairs.
Would 100% recommend this tour.

This was the best walking tour I’ve been on. As a teacher and local Christian seemed very knowledgeable and kept it interesting. He threw in a few activities and treats that really kicked it up a notch. You’d be missing out not to do a tour with him.

It's already been two weeks since me and my friend went on this tour with Alex as our guide but no matter how much time has passed, the least I can do in return for such an amazing experience is try to explain how wort it it was. Comuna 13 is filled with a vibrant and resilient energy that I have never witnessed before. Its streets and its people are filled with courage, truth, art, joy and overall, life. This was embodied by Alex himself behind whose smile there was probably a challenging journey but that also showed the pride and love he had for his neighborhood and his people. Medellín and especially places like Comuna 13 have been through injustice but that hasn't defined what their communities stand for and who they are.
It's beautiful to see a fight guided by kindness and art.
