We'll explore the history of the Jewish people in Argentina, from its colonial times to modernity. As we navigate the history of a 200,000+ collective, we'll explore the neighborhoods of Once, Tribunales and Retiro.

We'll go beyond religious tradition as we explore how politics and the broad history of Argentina shaped and made it's Jewish population into what it is today.

Throughout our action-packed tour, we'll see AMIA, known as "the mother institution" of Jewish life in Argentina, which was targeted by a terrorist attack in the 90s, and visit the Jewish Museum and Libertad Synagogue. We will explore Once, a Jewish neighborhood and bulk trading district, strolling through synagogues, quinceañera party supply shops and fabric vendors. We will go to what we call "Diversity Corner": a place where just by standing 5 minutes, you'll witness all the diversity BA can showcase.

Please remember to bring your original passport, and comfortable shoes as we'll be walking over 4 kilometres!

Our guide, Cande, was one of the best guides we have ever had. Her command of the history of the Jews in Argentina was extremely impressive. We learned a lot from her, and she greatly exceeded our expectations.

Our guide was Estaphan and he was fabulous. His english was perfect, his knowledge base expansive, and his delivery entertaining. He explained judaism in Argentina from the inquisition to the modern day. The 1994 terrorist bombing of AIMA was comprehenively covered. The walking tour covered the major Jewish neighborhoods and buildings. Estephan explained candidly what Jewish life in Argentina has been like for him as well as hot button topics like antisemitism, Israel and geopolitics, and the current Israeli/Hamas war. Left feeling that we had a solid understanding for Judaism in all its facets in Argentina. On top of that, it was a pleasant experience.

I can't begin to explain how amazing this tour was. Our tour guide was Julia Cohen, who was so engaging and really personalized the experience! Her knowledge base is over and above what most tours are like. It really is terrific to go to another country and learn about our Jewish community. I would certainly highly recommend Lunfarda Travel for this tour, as well as the food tour which we also took. This tour company chooses unique individuals who are passionate about their subject, and also have personal experiences which they share. This is one terrific company.

Our guide Cande was terrific. She provided us with lots of information and answered all our questions about Argentina’s Jewish community. We forgot our passports, which were needed for entry into the Jewish Museum, so she went back to the hotel with me to get them and rearranged the tour stops so I didn’t have more walking. What a lovely young lady. Best tour ever!

Marianna is a wealth of knowledge about Buenos Aires and Argentina and the Jewish community there. She is passionate, speaks English perfectly and conveyed to us the history and role of Jewish Argentinians. Her stories brought life to the history. Our group of 4 so enjoyed our days with Marianna; she completely made the trip for us and was accommodating in every way. We came away with a rich understanding of this beautiful, complex country and look forward to returning and being with Marianna in the future. She was the BEST guide you can imagine!
