Enjoy the Deoksugung Palace tour in the morning or at night.

One hundred years ago, Korea was called "Korean Empire," not Joseon nor South Korea. Deoksugung Palace, which served as the main palace instead of Gyeongbokgung Palace, is the only palace with traditional and western-style buildings put together. Because it was at the center of the period during the first tempt of modernize in 600 years, it preserves different beauty, history, and the pain of Japanese invasion. The tour will proceed as a night tour because of it's greater beauty and peace during the the night. As the location is near the City Hall and Gwanghwamun Station, you will be able to enjoy the tour without any pressure. The stone wall next to Deoksugung Palace is also famous for its beauty, so don't miss it!

I was the only person who had booked the tour so the tour guide Alan Han gave me a great tour around Deoksugung Palace. He explained the history and the end of the Joseon dynasty. He gave a great insight in to the architecture of the palace, which was very useful when I visited the other palaces like Gyeongbukgung and Chandeokgung palace. The palace was beautifully lit and Alan recommended some K-dramas to watch on Joseon history. All in all an excellent tour.

I highly recommend this tour! The buildings are lit at dusk and evening, in a way that brings out a different kind of beauty.

We have done self-guided tours of other palaces, but having a tour guide is so worth it. We arrived a little early, so our tour guide Alan started our tour right away. He was so knowledgeable and patient (our kid asked a million questions) but I came away with new appreciation for Korean history and architecture that I would not have gotten if we did a self-guided tour. Alan also knew the best spots and angles for family photos. Thank you so much, Alan, for a memorable experience of our time in Seoul!
