A challenging hike in a very unusual part of Tijuca Forest, one of the biggest urban forests in the world. On this circuit of trails you'll walk approx. 5h, for 10,4km (6.5mi), with an elevation gain of 848m (2,670ft) and discover the nature and beauty of the jungle. Reach the Taquara Hill (814m=2670ft), a 100m higher than Christ Redeemer with mazing views to the valley of the forest and the city, in clear days. Visit caves and also coffee farms ruin. After the hike, refresh in a waterfall* (bring towel/ bathing suit). On the route to the park, stop by another summit for pictures and admiring the landscape. The scenery of this tour is amazing with nature and a lot of adventure. You'll also learn the history of Brazil, of the forest, the coffee farms of that area, and the reforestation that happened in the 1800's.
*The flow on the falls varies according to the rain.
*it also goes to Vista Chinesa but only on working days (on weekends/holidays Vista Chinesa is closed for vehicles)

TLDR: amazing experience, I give it 5/5.
The all-day hike was indeed a challenge but well worth the effort. The trail can be steep sometimes and the guide forces a rather fast pace, but I got used to it after a few minutes. For people with poor stamina, I would suggest an easier trail, though.
Overall, it was an excellent, professionally-planned and a well-prepared tour. The guide was extremely nice and helpful. Also, the organiser contacted me before the trip and was kind enough to pick me up from an unusual spot upon my request.

Tijuca forest is lush and magnificent, incredible that it is in the middle of Rio. The guide was excellent, and the trail went deep into the forest: an unmissable opportunity for nature lovers who are short on time and still want to experience the South American tropical rainforest.

Our guide, Riccardo, collected us on time at the pick up point and immediately started giving us interesting facts on the city the country and the place we were about to hike. Riccardos knowledge was incredible and he was able to answer any questions we could throw at him. The hike was done at a pace that suited us. We highly recommend this trip worth every penny.

I was super unlucky in Rio and I just got heavy rain. Nonetheless thiago was super helpful, we considered a couple of times the possibility to go, and he kept answering very politely and rapidly to all my questions. In the end the hike was not possible, and he immediately refunded me. So I decided to write a review anyway, to share how nice and trustworthy this project is.

Roberto was an amazing guide!
He was very knowledgeable and allowed us to spend as much time as we required to take pictures and breaks.
It was an amazing experience and I definitely would book tours with him again when I’m back in Rio!

Before we started this tour, the communication from Anna was very clear and prompt. My husband and I had a great trek with Tito on the tour. He was very knowledgeable about jungle species and history of Brazil. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience.
