We sailed for 45 minutes with 9 people on the boat before we saw the whale sharks. Clear explanation and guidance during our dive.

The overall experience was wonderful. The ocean was gorgeous and the captain and tour guide were both very helpful.
I'm an anxious person by nature though, and this sort of this was too much for me. I swallowed a lot of sea water and panicked when I got in the water at first. I more or less paid for the boat ride out and a tummy ache. Smarter people than I would probably know better than to try swimming with whale sharks with extreme anxiety. I'm still glad I did it.

Through no fault of the tour, operator, or captain, there just simply weren’t any whale sharks that day. Nobody saw them, so it was kind of depressing as this was the sole reason for us going to Isla Mujeres. However, when we came up to the sandbar, the captain made homemade shrimp ceviche, which was delicious and both here And the other gentleman were very nice.

This was a really great trip seeing the whale sharks. The check in was really easy, then our captain drove us out in the boat for about an hour and we saw a ton of whale sharks! Everyone on the boat got two jumps into the water with them. Gustavo was a great guide maximizing everyone’s experience in the water. Afterwards they served sandwiches and waters/sodas, we saw a bunch of dolphins on the boat ride back. We made a stop to snorkel at another reef and then made another stop in front of the island to swim and eat fresh ceviche. We got to see a turtle on this last stop as well. I would recommend Aqua Adventures to anyone!

There were two of us and we did multiple dives with Aqua Adventures Eco Divers. All of the dives were fantastic! In addition to the great Whaleshark excursion (yes, we did see these beauties!), we did MUSA, drift dives, deep wreck dives and beautiful reef dives. The ENTIRE staff was great! Shout out to Jason for coordinating and recommending dives for us. And about big thank you to the amazing dive masters Pedro, Gus (aka Magic Mike/Aquaman), Emmanuel(Manu) and captain Wilbert who helped make these dive’s memorable.

Waited over an hour for a late group. No one to take video and pictures in the water. The whale sharks were amazing. Long ride to sharks very choppy.

The hard work of the guides paid off and we were able to find and swim with the whale sharks. I understand they cannot control if the sharks are around that day or not, but they adjusted the start time of our trip so we would have a better chance of finding the animals. Their communication was very clear.

Did not get to see sharks. Boat in back of line. About 35th out of 40th boat! Left too late. Staff trying to get more people on boat which delayed departure. Scheduled for previous day but told boat had mechanical problems. Do not believe that as only 6 people were scheduled and they apparently wanted a full boat of 10. Deserve a full refund. In addition, boat captain was terrible. After close to 4 hours on boat did not offer clients food or water while he was gorging himself with snacks! Blaring rap type music so could not hear him well either!

It's a bold claim, I know. For the same price that you would get a beach dive and an inexperienced guide anywhere else, Aqua Adventures Whale Shark program is one of the best experiences I've had on or in the water. A boat of 8 people sports 2 guides and Captain Carlos. Following all the rules for the park, he was clearly THE most experienced captain of the 20ish companies at the destination. After he had already navigated and dropped us directly into the path of multiple Whale Sharks, we took off again based on his intuition, and sure enough, we found another one far away from the other boats and tourists. Being a strong swimmer, I kept up with one of the Whale Sharks for several of the best minutes of my life. I think we know that the vast majority of these shops would check the box after seeing the first whale shark and call it good. Not Captain Carlos, he took us further and spent more time delivering a top-notch experience, and then fed us amazing ceviche, fruit and guac! . The guides even take GoPro video of the entire experience available for additional purchase. World Class.
