One of the most well-known Australian engagements of the Vietnam War - external site was the Battle of Long Tan - external site, 18 August 1966. The battle saw the action of 108 ANZACS against a Viet Cong (North Vietnamese) force - external site estimated between 1,500 and 2,500. The Battle was one of the heaviest conflicts of the Vietnam War as well as one the few battles in the recorded history of the world to be won against such odds. Vietnam Veterans' Day, celebrated in Australia on 18 August each year, commemorates the Battle of Long Tan and those Australians who served during the Vietnam War and is an opportunity to remember those who did not come home.

First time visit to Vietnam to learn more about the history of the Anzacs in Vietnam. Alex, the tour guide was knowledgeable and along with his trainees lead me to have a eye opening and thought provoking experience, even for a non Australian

Tuan was a great guide. Very knowledgeable in the tour. Recommend it to anyone who wants to visit the Ling Tan Cross. Tour was good.

We took the full day tour to see Nui Dat (Aussie base during the war), Vung Tau, Long Tan and many other sights along the way. Alex was our guide and provided fascinating commentary and stories throughout the entire trip, including a ceremony at Long Tan
Lunch was a bowl of pho and on the way back Alex stopped to grab us some banh mi - amazing
If you have an interest in seeing this do not hesitate and ask for Alex as your guide

Great tour. On time pick up. Alex provided plenty of information, looked after us, and catered for my dietary needs. Respectful service at the Long Tan site. A moving but pleasurable trip.

We loved this tour. Alex went above and beyond to make it a great experience, even down to the Australian anthem and last post at the long tan cross. He provides before photos of every stop around Nui dat base as well as very informed information about everything. I would highly recommend VIP tours and Alex as your guide. Get in, sit down and shut up. Thanks verymuch.

Had a fantastic tour with Juan on Lunar New year day to Long Tan. Tuan was in the war and was able to tell us all his stories and so much information about his experiences. We were well looked after and learned a lot!

The best part of the trip by far was the knowledge, insight and service provided by my guide Tuan from Vietnam Adventure Tours. Being a war veteran himself he was able to offer invaluable insight to the events of that time and was more than happy to share his own thoughts, experiences and personal photographs from that time. Nothing was too much trouble and he was very patient with me as I took photographs of the sites myself and he also took countless photographs for me. He even took me to a small shop where I purchased some Long Tan stubbie holders. This great service did not end with the completion of my trip as Tuan emailed me some of his personal photographs. Thanks once again Tuan and Vietnam Adventure Tours !!!
