Leaving reviews are not one I take lightly and I only do so when service/experiences are exceptional. On that note, I would like to commend the Goodmate Travel Team (GMTT acronym for this review only) for providing a tour unlike any other. Catered to meet your expectations for an authentic, informative and fun trip. This can be experienced solo (don’t be afraid to book if you are traveling alone), friends/family or couples. While each group experience is unique based on the individual, even if you are a solo traveler like me, the friendships you gain from this experience will not only enrich your life but you will form lifelong bonds; something only possible with the nature of this tour. The GMTT ensures your safety and comfort throughout the tour, nothing was overlooked (pre-planning, during and final goodbye). The walk as a group back to the hotel on the last night together was the hardest; not only for me, but apparent by other travelers who had a difficult (or teary) time saying goodbye. This is the joy you will feel at the end of the trip…every minute (even if early mornings) for agenda specific start times you will be grateful for. There are truly so many amazing things to share about this guided tour.
This is my 8th group travel experience, but the first group tour with a small, local company. In selecting Goodmate Travel as my tour company for my trip to Korea, I was hopeful that it would be a more intimate experience and have an authentic, local feel; this was exactly my experience and I was not disappointed. Traveling with Goodmate Travel tour hosts and tour managers feels like you're traveling with new friends who are excited to show you all their favorite places about their home country. Having local tour hosts, managers, and guides ensured that we were not taken to any "tourist traps" and we were able to enjoy the way locals do! We were also lucky to have a professional photographer touring with us and capturing the special moments on our trip. This allowed us to be unplugged from our phones and enjoying ourselves.
The tour itself was a great mix of historical site and city tours, cultural experiences, experiencing local food (including a cooking class), and free time for us to explore on our own. Our tours and experiences were all hosted by additional local tour operators, allowing us to meet and interact with many diverse people along the way. If you love Korean food as much as me - you will not be disappointed. There were so many amazing foods to try and we were taken to lots of small, local places (which in my opinion, always have the best food)! One thing that impressed me about the tour is that all lunches and dinners were included along the way. This is above and beyond what I have experienced with other companies! They also took care of those in the tour with dietary restrictions and ensured everybody was well fed and enjoying.
After the formal tour ended, several members of the Goodmate Travel team continued to engage with those of us who extended our trips, showing us additional, unique spots in Seoul and ensuring we got to embrace all that Korea has to offer! This was above and beyond expectations and I was truly touched that they took extra time and effort to show us a great time.
Lastly, if you're ever hesitant about traveling solo, I can't recommend group travel enough. You'll make many amazing friends, as I did on this trip, and you'll feel as if you've known each other for years after just one day! Goodmate Travel's motto is that you are traveling solo, but not alone - and I truly think that embodies the experience they've curated for those who choose to travel with them.

My adventure with Good Mate Travel was beyond anything I could have imagined. As someone who usually plans every detail, I was unsure about group travel, but from the get-go, their meticulous planning impressed me. The itinerary struck a perfect balance, giving us guided tours while also allowing plenty of time to wander on our own. Our accommodations were not just nice places to stay, but stunning havens with views that took my breath away. But what made this trip truly special were the local guides and their personalized city tours, who shared their insider knowledge and made us feel like locals ourselves. As a vegetarian, I was worried about food, but Good Mate Travel took care of everything, ensuring I never went hungry. And can I just say, having a dedicated photographer was a stroke of genius! It let us be fully present in every moment, capturing memories that will last a lifetime. From start to finish, the trip was flawlessly executed, and the perfect group size made it feel like traveling with friends. it was my first time doing a group tour and it was an amazing experience!!! the staff and tour guides were awesome and knowledgeable. the places we visited were beautiful and you also have time to explore the cities on your own. i would recommend anyone wanting to visit south korea this tour.

Booking this trip was one of the best , I have made so far.
Never before have I felt so welcomed in a group of people; where I didn't know anybody. If you want to solo travel please give it a try and trust Goodmate Travel.
I was traveling solo, but never did I feel alone during this whole trip.
I made friends for life. We laughed, shared stories together and I'm glad I didn't miss out on those things.
Your hosts are considering and are listening to your needs, trying to fulfill your wishes. You don't have to worry about anything.
And the best is that you see Korea through the eyes of a local.
I have been to Korea before, but doing this trip with Goodmate Travel showed me a side of Korea, that I didn't experience before.
And yes they are real people ❤️

I could not have asked for a better experience for my first solo international trip. I was very hesitant to travel alone but after seeing multiple reviews praising Goodmate Travel (GMT), I decided to take a chance. Even though not everyone knew each other in the group, the GMT team created a safe space to ensure everyone felt included and welcomed. Each day had a detailed itinerary so you always knew where the group was going. Even with the itinerary people were also allowed to break off from the group if they wanted to go and do their own thing or simply rest. The GMT team was even kind enough to help with accommodations and gave suggestions for places to visit for those in the group that were staying in Korea longer. I made so many memories and friendships throughout this trip and it would not have been possible without the dedication GMT has to human connection. I signed up for a solo trip and ended up with a community, a family, that I can’t wait to see again. A huge thank you to Jae, Chris, Yeri, Mato, Jimin, and all the GMT friends and guides! This is a trip of a lifetime and one that I cannot recommend enough.

This trip was awesome! From day one we had so much fun. Both Jae and Chris treated us as real friends, taking care of us and taking us to beautiful places where history and modernity coexist in perfect harmony. If you take this tour you will taste the best of Korean food, spend time as a local and have fun as Korean people do.
I felt comfortable during my stay at the hotels and also felt safe. I’ll never forget this amazing experience. I wish I can repeat this tour one day!!!

This was my first time booking a tour and tried not to have too high expectations but goodmate travel went above and beyond and definitely exceeded all my expectations. The whole experience was fantastic, met a lot of great people and the team was so fun and engaging. With everything that was included the cost of the tour was absolutely worth it, the accommodations, food and activities were all great. The itinerary is not your typical tourist trap locations, you get to see many beautiful places with a lot of history and background, and go to restaurants that really get you a sense of the real Korea. I loved it and would recommend this company to anyone without hesitations, I will be hopefully be joining another tour with Goodmate Travel in the near future.
