I had a great time taking this tour! Our guide, Laura, was knowledgeable about the history and volcanology of Etna! She was engaging and you can tell she was exited in sharing what she knew which made the tour quite enjoyable! The views were incredible of Enta and the surrounding landscape! I do recommend bringing a coat or sweater as it was quite windy and cooler up the mountain (of course) It was a good way to spend half the day!

The guide was punctual, gave us a lot of interesting information, demonstrating remarkable competence. The excursion is also safe for children, who must walk on a not difficult route. Spectacular places. We were very satisfied and recommend the experience.

We had a great tour! This tour is ideal if you want to see a lot in a relatively short time. It is also really suitable for all travelers. There were only two of us, which had the advantage that we had the feeling of a private excursion. Salvo had a lot of knowledge and was able to answer all our questions. He took plenty of time to explain and take photos. We found the visit to the craters and foothills of Etna, the lava cave and the tasting to be a fun and beautiful experience.

Let's start by saying that Salvo is polite and very helpful; the tour absolutely did not meet our expectations. We didn't understand if these were excessive but the proposal was really poor compared to the participation fee and what was advertised.
Meeting point in Zafferana, which we reached independently, and then continued in the organization's van to the public car park in front of the bar at Crateri Silvestri.
Walk and generic explanation on history and volcanic phenomena, about half an hour, we haven't even reached the square of the Sapienza Refuge...
Second stop, visit to the cave: more time to put on helmets, lamps and various equipment than to visit the cave, dug out by the lava several meters below the road, 10 minutes and off you go.
The next two stages, always reached by van; a terrace in the greenery overlooking the Valle del Bove (km away..) where we found some nice street vendors; then visit to a local food and wine company, return to the car park in Zafferana around 1pm and the end.
We imagined doing at least part of the trekking routes around the volcano or covering more characteristic areas of the area on foot, to discover and appreciate the wonders of Etna, as advertised.
It is a very basic tour that could even be done without a guide.
Disappointed! Sin!

A wonderful, insightful tour. Worth it just alone for the smooth and quick ride up the mountain.
Great explanations of the history of Etna and some fantastic stops at some local food suppliers.
