Loved it! We visit family in Scotland quite regularly, but we learned our lesson from last year and so did not go to Edinburgh in August, which is where we started out.

We're not saying don't go in August - if you like the hustle and bustle of crowds and festivals, August and Edinburgh are the time and place to be there - but be warned, the August population of Edinburgh is three times its normal 500,000! - restaurants and hotels are jammed and priced accordingly. (And remember that a British Pound is currently $CA1.70!)

We prefer the quiet of the countryside and so the quiet bustle of the Edinburgh bus station, the politeness of the Rabbie's Tour guide waiting there to greet us, and the very capable guide/driver was a welcome treat.

Did I mention this was our 6th Rabbie's tour? And our second to Mull & Iona? We take a Rabbie's tour every time we travel to Scotland. The tours are reasonably priced, accommodation is pre-booked and worry-free (Rabbie's arranges, you pay the host). The driver/guide is usually quite knowledgeable about the locale and its history and provides a commentary and suitable music for the various stops. As a history teacher, I am frankly impressed by the depth of information some drivers have.

Anyway .... all this to say that if you're going to Scotland, take a Rabbie's tour! It will be worth every penny.

Our guide,George, was really wonderful. He kept us entertained and informed In the most delightful way and was attentive to our individual comforts. He was always available to answer questions with a friendly smile. Our fearless driver,Nick, was a most skilled navigator, we were in awe of his ability to safely negotiate the narrow, narrow one lane roads with their frequent passing places. He was also polite, friendly and helpful.

We were blessed with warm, dry weather until the final day when it poured. Only downside of our excursion was the hotel in Tobermary, the MishNish. The young people staffing the hotel seemed to be unfamiliar with simple greeting skills and when asked about a light in our room, replied “ it’s broken”. Upon departure no one asked how our stay was or made any of the usual pleasantries one becomes accustomed to at hotels. We heard others in our group make similar comments about the Mishnish staff so it wasn’t just us, if you have mobility issues be sure to ask for a lower floor. The hotel is old so no lift and the 34 stairs from reception to our room were not fun to lug suitcases on.

We had frequent stops at interesting spots along the way, such as the town of Oban and the graves at Kilmartin. Much ground is covered and there is some flexibility allowed for special requests

Fantastic tour; well organised with really informative guide. We would highly recommend! Tobermory was a highlight (I would recommend choosing a hotel on the front as the hotel in package was a bit of a hike up the hill!) It was a really fun night in the pub with the local music which is a regular occurrence! It was also nice to have some free time to explore the paths to the waterfalls along the cliff. The beaches on Mull were so beautiful and the trip to the islands were fun although we missed the puffins. The coach was comfy and the trip well planned with toilet and food breaks. I would highly recommend!

This trip was beyond any expectations we may have had before it started. Our driver-guide Sean was wonderful, so knowledgeable about every location, telling us all about the history, geology and wildlife. This was all interspersed with musical interludes, myths and folk tales and lots of funny stories. Sean obviously has a great love of Scotland and of the wildlife found in the Highlands, and this was evident in the enthusiam with which he spoke. The whole trip was educational as well as entertaining. One day we spotted a sheep stuck on it's back unable to get up. As was explained, she would die of thirst if not helped. So we parked up and I gave Sean a hand helping the sheep back on it's feet. That was not something I was expecting to do but was a very rewarding experience seeing the sheep bound away! The scenery all around is simply breathtaking, with plenty of wildlife to see if you keep your eyes peeled (take the trip to Staffa to see the Puffins, not to be missed). Tobermory is a beautiful little town that we were sad to leave (the fish and chips from the van on the quay is fantastic!). Overall this trip was worth every penny and was a great experience. Dealing with Rabbie's was first class and Sean was a gentleman and thorough professional at all times. Thank you Sean for making it such a special trip! We will definitely be on another Rabbie's tour in the not too distant future.

I took the 4 day tour to Mull, Iona, and Staffa with Stefan as the tour guide. It was amazing in every way. Rabbies took care of everything, Stefan was so nice and knowledgeable. I would recommend this tour and Stefan to anyone and would go again myself.

I also took a 3 day Isle of Skye tour with Jim Divine and was equally as amazing. He had a great eye for beautifully picturesque spots being a photographer himself. He was very knowledgeable on all things Scotland and gave me the perfect whisky recommendation. As with Stefan I would book with him again and would recommend to anyone.

The size of the tour groups was perfect and it's an environment where you get to know the guide and everyone else on the trip. I traveled solo and came away from the experience with a thousand photos, amazing memories, and friends.

Rabbie's itself was a wonderful company to work with and when I had an issue booking before I came they fixed it all up quickly. Everyone I have talked to in the company has been incredibly nice and helpful. Book with them, I don't think you would regret it!

Our guide Alan was a superb driver and provided a continuous round of information and entertainment during the long scenic driving sections of the journey. Tobermory was an absolutely lovely base for our 3 night stay on Mull and the trips to Staffa, Iona and round the north of the Island all worked really well. A great trip, thank you!

Just home from a fantastic trip to Mull, Iona, Staffa and the highlands of Scotland. This was my first time to Mull and Iona and it did not disappoint. I wanted to do this trip to let me get a taste of Mull and it has made me want to go back for more. The weather was not kind and thankfully the whole group came prepared so it meant that Liam our guide was able to follow his plans and show us the highlights. We had fun little ferry hops along with a trip out to see Fingals cave on Staffa.

Hats off to Liam who was able to share his personal stories and places on Mull, being a local lad. This made it feel like a very special trip.

Mull and Iona was fabulous and if you ever want to dip into a taster of these islands, then this is the way to do it.

I've travelled around Scotland with Rabbie's before so when I knew I was coming back here they were really my only choice because I knew they'd make sure I saw everything that needed to be seen and that I'd have an enjoyable trip - both of these things were true.

Our guide, Paul, is a resident on Mull and it showed - you could see that he loved the island and was extremely knowledgeable about it and the other places we visited. He was also very aware of current restrictions and made sure we were never anywhere too crowded and gave us great advice on where we might need to book to get food etc. on each day. He created a great friendly and relaxed atmosphere on the bus and helped us have many an adventure by showing us places we probably would have missed.

The trip itself was fantastic - I love Glencoe so I'm always happy to go through there, I've been through there twice before (with Rabbie's) but each time I get a different viewpoint. Mull is a beautiful island with lots to see - and with Rabbie's you get to see all of it. I highly recommend the trip out to Staffa from Iona - even someone who's afraid of heights like myself was able to get out to Fingal's Cave and then out along the island to see the puffins.

I made so many wonderful memories on this trip - I highly recommend it.

A friend and I went on this tour with James and six other people. We had a wonderful time and experienced one day of wild weather while on the ferry from Mull to Iona. It was a blast ! The scenery and history behind the area was great! We will definitely take another tour in the future. Thanks James !

A brilliant four day tour. Due to Rabbie’s guarantee only my husband and I were on this tour! We couldn’t believe Rabbies would honour the booking, but were delighted they did. Too many highlights to list here but such a varied an interesting tour. Our tour guide Michael made what could have been a strange experience really enjoyable. He was knowledgeable, friendly and committed to ensuring our needs were fully catered for. In fact, we cannot praise Michael enough for making this trip so perfect. Would definitely recommend both this tour and Rabbies to others.
