I was on the same tour as Eileen, her review is just under mine…and I agree of every things she said😃😃 according to the tour!
The ‘ there could have been a puffin’ place, was wonderful , Barney? And the history of the Orkneys interesting, both old, and the newer from 2.ww…
And with Rabbies it’s so nice, that it always is the small busses, 16 people, and often a good mix of people, a few(1!) younger, some a little or a lot elder, singles , friends and couples.
And the Guide Helen is amazing! I think we all felt that we were able to see what we wanted each person, even though we were a group. And she knows everything! Everything!, and knows when to talk, and keep silence.

Orkney is stunning and sites like Skara Brae, Ring of Brodgar, the Italian Chapel and Maeshowe all tell a fascinating story of times gone by that will appeal to anyone with even a passing interest in history. This was a terrific Orkney itinerary which packed in all the sites we wanted to see (and even some we hadn't known we wanted to see!) without feeling rushed as well as covering some gorgeous sites north of Inverness too. Helen was a fantastic guide who cheerily adapted the tour to all 16 group members levels of agility and tastes (no mean feat) whether that be history, wildlife, shopping or even hunting for sea glass on some of the most beautiful, wildest beaches I've ever seen. She also excelled at sourcing a magnificent selection of bathroom stops en route (again no mean feat!) and shared her excellent Scotland playlist in the comfortable minibus which served as our vehicle for the duration of the trip.

The trip to Orkney was wonderful. Helen showed us many wonderful places and always pointed out things worth seeing along the way and told us interesting facts.
The landscape in Orkney is completely different to that in the Highlands and is definitely worth seeing.
Helen was very flexible and adapted our stays to the weather and the "tourist rush".
We would definitely do the trip with Helen again.

We enjoyed the tour very much. Our driver/Guide packed in a great deal, including a visit with two delightful Hungarian sheep pigs.

The one demerit for me, and not the driver’s fault, is that they booked us in too a guest house a mile and a half from town, so no nearby restaurants, shops, sights. And we arrived at dinner time, in a town we did not know where most of the good restaurants required bookings. So finding a good place to eat was a struggle. This all happened without warning at the end of a long day when we were tired and hungry. The bus driver picked us up and took us to town for dinner, which was an okay work-around. The guest house itself was great, run by a very nice woman.

Still, the arrangements were not the best.

My friends and I had an amazing time on the Orkney tour. The small bus experience is friendly and comfortable. The itinerary is fascinating, with scenery and Neolithic sites that offer a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I can't say enough good things about our driver and guide, Helen. She was kind, attentive, fun-loving and deeply knowledgable about Scottish history, politics and culture. When the weather interrupted our plans one day, she quickly created an alternate tour that was equally fun and engaging. She recommended places to eat and shop, and helped with all our needs and requests. I would recommend this tour especially to those who are wary of tours: this one is rare and exceptional!

Kev, our bus/driver guide, was so informative and funny. The small group size, 16 participants in the mini bus, made for a comfortable journey. We were given enough time at each site to explore and take photos without feeling rushed. We had booked our own accomodations so can't comment on that service offered by Rabbie's. On our way to and from Inverness, where the tour started, we passed and saw every sites. I would recomend this tour if you wish to spend a few days in Orkney.

Kevin was great in many ways. He is very knowledgeable and has a good sense of humor. We visited all the key important and interesting sites in the Orkney Islands plus learned lots of history and some folklore. Kevin was quite considerate and accommodating - he made our 3 days full of adventure, excitement and fun. ..plus he played the greatest Scottish tunes! All the six friends in our group fully enjoyed our tour and stay in the Orkney Islands. Having a small group tour gave us additional flexibility which was really awesome. Highly recommend!

This tour was 6/5 for us - it was excellent! Stewart was our tour guide, a born and bred “Orkneyman”. He was extremely knowledgeable, knew where to go for great comfort stops, lunch and sightseeing. It was a small tour - only 16 people. Stewart also made the trip fun with his “dad” jokes and funny and interesting tales of the area. The days were full, but we saw and learnt so much.

The accommodation was fairly rudimentary, but was clean and was fine for 2 nights. The breakfast was great and good value. Rabbies Tours do allow you to book your own accommodation, so if you are a bit picky about where you stay, I’d suggest you do this. The bus will pick you up and drop you off each day.

I would highly recommend Rabbies Tours, they were fantastic!

Tour guide Seana was charming, knowledgeable, engaging, funny and friendly. A true scottish highlander, I feel privileged that I got to spend three fantastic days in her company and my mind is buzzing with all the fascinating facts and stories that she shared on this tour. The itinerary and sites that we got to see on this tour were incredible, communication was perfect and times allotted for each site were just enough to thoroughly explore the site and not get bored waiting for the tour to move on. The nature of Orkney is not as spectacular as in the highlands, but all the Neolithic and bronze age sites that we got to see just blew my mind. This tour is a must for anyone interested in ancient history and archeology.
