We booked a tour with viator for a guided tour to Alhambra and nasrid palace on 24 May 2024 for 10 ppl for the 11 of June.. Viator confirmed the booking and charged us 693.80 dollars we received a message from amigo tours that they will be unable to provide us tickets to nasrid palace the evening before the tour just 15 minutes before their office shuts. Our tour was for 8 am on 11 June . We called them on 11 June 7 am since we had travelled all the way from India to see nasrid palace. They had overbooked the tour and could not arrange for the tickets. They were absolutely unapologetic about it and said they could not do anything. On insistence they offered us a tour at 5 30 pm audio guide tour no guide was being provided as promised. The viator help line was also not helpful and said they cannot do anything about it.

On arrival to the nasrid palace st 5 30 our tickets were not valid at the entrance gate . The ticket office told us that our tickets were already printed by the tour company and we cannot enter till the company gives our tickets. On calling amigo tours they first said they had not printed any tickets and when the ticket office told them it was done they later agreed that their tour guide printed them in the morning. We were told to look for the tickets near audio centre and refused to give any further information. Viator throughAmigo tours sold us a guided tour which did not take place and further amigo tours caused undue harassment by refusing to provide tickets at timely basis while charging us $69 per ticket for a 19 euro ticket.

Amigo Tours Spain contacted us by What's App informing us that the tour, paid for months in advance, was canceled due to them being unable to secure the tickets. This after accepting payment of over $500. They said they would refund the tickets but what about the $250 for the rental car that sat in the hotel parking garage for 5 days expecting to be needed to drive the 2 hours from Torremolinos? What about the 2 extra night at said hotel expecting to take a tour which the tour company said they had not secured the tickets when they sold it? Selling tours when you don't have the tickets for the venue should be illegal. I'm surprised with all the rules and regulations in the EU, this practice for tour operators isn't addressed!

This was a very good, interesting tour. Our guide, Isabella, clearly knew her subject well and imparted her knowledge with sprinklings of good humour. I enjoyed the Generalife, the Alcabaza fortress and Carlos V palace. The one disappointment for me was that I could not get a ticket for the Nasrid Palace either online or on the day but this gives me a very good reason to go back!

We decided to book with Amigo Tours (instead of directly with the museum) because we thought it would be very useful to have a guide who can illustrate the tine of the Moors for us. Two days before the tour date, they messaged us to say that the Nasrid Palaces is now not a part of the tour anymore due to a 'computer glitch'. The Nasrid palaces is the most important attraction in Alhambra so we are EXTREMELY disappointed for missing out on it. Despite our request for a partial refund, they ignored that part of our message. At that point, the official museum also was sold out of Nasrid Palaces tickets so we missed out on them entirely. This is very dishonest of Amigo Tours (especially the part where they ignore our request for a partial refund).

Once we had the Generalife and Alhambra tours, our guide was very competent and nice, but alas, we missed out on the main attraction due to the incompetence. Buy your tickets directly.

When you have a life dream to visit such a magnificent, historical monument, the anticipation is so built up! The experience of touring Alhambra surpassed my expectations because of the tour guide we booked. This was key to learning the ins and outs of Alhambra. Furthermore, Gabrielle knew all the answers about Alhambra, the city, the people, past and present. She also had the answers to all my questions. Hence knowledgeable and also very nice and open to comments, and questions.

I had to rate this one star otherwise the review wasn’t accepted. It was a definite zero stars. We paid a considerable amount of money to have a private tour. We were told the guide would meet us at the main entrance with a sign indicating Amigo Tours. Although we and the guide were both very early we had no way to identify him and we all waiting around unnecessarily. After a phone call to Amigo Tours we finally managed to connect. We were told our arranged guide was sick and he sent a replacement- who did not work for Amigo Tours. He essentially walked through the site with us offering little information. The entire tour (for over $400) lasted less than 1 hour 45 minutes of which 15 minutes was a bathroom break and 15 minutes was allowed for us to climb the stairs to a tower. I contacted the tour operator with our complaint but received no acknowledgement. This review reflects our view of Amigo Tours, not of Alhambra. Definitely go to the site but save your money and just purchase a general admission with an audioguide
