Visit the remote temples of Koh Ker and Beng Mealea via car or minivan with this small-group tour from Siem Reap. You'll venture off the beaten track, heading first to Beng Mealea (believed to be a prototype for Angkor Wat) and then on to Koh Ker, an abandoned forest temple dating to the 10th century.

The guide and trip were not bad. But I thought these 2 temples are not worth visiting. They don't look like in the pictures, especially Beng Mealea, which is totally destroyed and not green like in the photos. After visiting the main ones (Angkor Wat, Ta Prohm, etc) you won't get too impressed. Koh Ker also costs an extra 15$, which is too much in my opinion. Also, although the tour starts very early, they don't take you for lunch until at least 2 pm. I recommend bringing snacks because it's too hot and not eating can be hard.
