We are a family of four and scheduled a 1/2 day workshop. Alice presented the museum, categories of gems, then explained how to identify the various gems with different techniques that we got to experiment.
We also bought some very nice jewelry and raw gems in the store. The workshop is a bit expensive for a family of four but worth it as it is quite unique. The jewelry is affordable and beautiful and we are very happy with our purchases.
Overall a great experience that i highly recommend ... we were very happy with the quality of the services, which is not always guaranteed in Siem Reap.

I got a very interesting visit and learn a lot about the different varieties of gems.
I did not know about the different stones and gems in Cambodia. Nice things to do besides the temple.

My wife and I took a 3 hour session with Jean-Philippe which was very beneficial and informative. For us it was very good learning relating to basic gemoligical identification and classification. For anyone with an interest, Jean- Philippe has the skills and knowledge to address your level of increased knowledge. I would highly recommend.

My husband and son spent 3 hours in the company of the highly knowledgeable but very interesting Professor Jean-Philippe Lepage who introduced them to the world of gemstones and the science behind their identification and grading and classification. How to identify synthetic, treated and natural gemstones. He made the session a highly enjoyable time and as a result for anyone who wants to build their basic knowlege of gemstones and have a break from the touring AngkorWat to try something different. Highly recommend.

I learned so much from this workshop and would highly recommend this to those who are interested in jewelry and knowing more about gems and the science behind the types of gems. I was taught how to distinguish natural VS synthetic stones with my naked eye and using tools like a UV light pen, eye magnifying glass and a microscope. Philippe was very knowledgeable about all stones and answered so many of my questions! He explains technical things simply using paper and pen to illustrate and lets you experience first-hand how to evaluate a strone using lab tools. In the end of the course, they will give you a certificate too. I had an awesome time and will definitely carry this knowledge with me next time I shop for gems and jewelry!

Never showed up. When the hotel called them, they said they were out of town. I'm fine with that, but would have liked a phone call or email. Was definitely looking forward to this.

I loved it. Then again, I love gem stones. Philippe has so much knowledge and shares it very well. An absolute must if you don't want to be ripped off by the many gem merchants around the place. You will learn what to look out for.

Philippe was knowledgeable and very thorough in his explanations, not to mention very generous with his time. My three hour workshop stretched to nearly four hours and left me wanting to study gemology because it was so interesting!
