The malt whisky trail tour of Speyside is a fascinating journey through this famous whisky-producing area of Scotland. A gem of a tour for both those with an interest in whisky and those who wish to learn.
The tour will commence in Grantown-on-Spey through romantic, stunning Scottish scenery. Each distillery and whisky is unique and their story from the source of the water through production and storage is fascinating. Marvel at the coopers constructing the wooden whisky barrels by hand and sample a range of local Speyside malt whiskies.
Due to the gradual reopening of visitor attractions, some of the venues, opening times and days available may be subject to change. Pre-booking will be essential in the majority of cases.

John was a wonderful guide and so knowledgeable of Grantown and the Speyside whisky area, We visited Cragganmore,, Glenlivet, Glenfarclas and Glenfiddich distilleries, A wonderful day out in fantastic scenery. Highly recommended, you won't be disappointed.

We thoroughly enjoyed our whisky tour with John. His knowledge and sense of humour contributed to a great day in his company. He certainly walked the extra mile and made some detours, being very attentive and responsive to our centres of interest. As it was my husband’s birthday gift, we have some unforgettable memories. John Halliday is the perfect tour guide! A great driver with lots of stories of the history of the area. Well travelled himself, he anticipates what you need and makes valued suggestions. Next time in Scotland we would certainly ask John to take us around again.

From the moment we booked our whiskey trail tour, John was very attentive and proactive in building an itinerary that met our interests.
He was very communicative leading up to the tour to make sure everything ran smoothly. The day of the tour itself we had a hiccup with a distillery losing power, but John rapidly pivoted and found us a plan B, taking us to another distillery. Overall, we had a great time, John was very friendly, knowledgeable and professional. Highly recommend booking with Strathspey Tours.

Visited distilleries for tours and tastings as well as visiting some of the beautiful landmarks on the way.
