You do not need a passport.
Gratuities are not included, though we have covered all other fees and taxes on board.

Positives first: boat was clean and first mate Janelle was kind and informative and the food was yummy.
Negatives, we were never taken to snorkel...when asked about snorkeling (three seperate times) a cove was pointed out in the distance, but it was so far away we couldn't swim there and back in the alloted time for the stop. I also had to ask for the snorkel mask and fins and was told they were in the compartment in the floor....Okay, should i get them myself?? OMG this is only a day sail and not a snorkeling trip. I only saw the same three random fish over and over. highly disappointed. additionally a very in depth discussion about how to flush the toilet properly was done, but never here are the life jackets or a safety discussion was ever brought up.

If you're looking for a pleasant relaxing experience upon sailing the beaches of St. Maarten this was the upmost pleasant experience. The hosts were amazing very friendly and welcoming, the food provided for lunch and dinner was very tasty. I would recommend to book this sail trip experience. Aga is amazing! And wonderful for taking photos

Exactly as advertised! Captain Robert took us to some amazing beaches and was very knowledgable about the island and its history. The food he and his mate cook and chopped was fantastic. A total calming, relaxing trip. We will be doing it again.

We were a group of 12. We had a great time however, this does not stop at all 3 beaches. They don't tell you that you can not stop at Maho beach and you just drive by. Also, it says it includes noodles, however there were only a couple of noodles and it was a significant swim from the boat to shore at the 2 beaches that we stopped at. This is a great excursion if you just want to lay out on a boat for the day. We would not do this excursion again.

Hosted a 60th birthday for my mother and Captain Robert went all out to make it extra special for her. The guests that I invited went on and on about how incredible of an experience it was, and even dropped the 'once in a lifetime bomb' I am beyond pleased. They also raved about his knowledge, kindness, hospitality and banging ribs. Highlight of the trip for sure. Thank you so much Captain Robert for making this an unforgettable moment in time.

What better way to spend a mid-winter vacation but to sail on the Hakuna Matata catamaran for a full day of fun on the seas off of St Maarten. From the moment Captain Robert and first mate Kacia picked us up on the dock, we immediately felt like a sailing trip with old friends. The food was lovingly prepared by both (world class ribs) and plenty of drinks for everyone. This trip was very relaxing and the various beach stops were beautiful. The captain regaled us with stories about the island and it’s inhabitants which we appreciated immensely.
For a “can’t miss” vacation experience, sailing with Captain Robert of Ocean Tales Adventures is something that should not be missed while on the island. Bravo!

Even a rainy day could not spoil this trip! Don't be put off since it is the only day it has rained this much since September.
We were picked up promptly at the arranged spot with just a small group of people on the catamaran so we all had enough space to enjoy the trip and take shelter when needed.
The waters were very clear and the captain seemed to manage the journeys between bays so we stopped and snorkelled when it wasn't raining. We saw rays and turtles as well as other fish and enjoyed lovely snacks and meals prepared by the two crew, who were friendly and thoughtful. I was invited to teach an impromptu yoga class on the webbing, which was great fun and perhaps they will start to offer this option. They pointed out things of interest particular to the people on board's interests and adapted the journey back to accommodate a request to see the planes fly in overhead.
Thank you very much for an enjoyable day especially since we would otherwise have probably stayed inside
