On this Tip Based tour of Recoleta and Retiro, you will enjoy a walk through the beautiful parks, monuments, and palaces of one of the most luxurious areas in Buenos Aires. We will explore the magnificent and opulent Buenos Aires of the early 1900s, starting our walk from the world-famous opera house, Teatro Colón.
Crossing the world’s widest avenue, Av. 9 de Julio, we will arrive at Plaza San Martín in the Retiro neighborhood. This park, one of the most beautiful in Buenos Aires, is surrounded by aristocratic mansions like Palacio San Martín and Palacio Paz.
From the terrace, enjoy a stunning view of the Tower of the English. Walking through Arroyo and Alvear streets, we’ll end at Plaza Alvear with the Church of Our Lady of Pilar and the famous Recoleta Cemetery.

I really appreciated Paloma's explanation of the history of the city and its residents that was told in a way that wasn't boring or uninteresting. We went to places of the city I probably wouldn't have found on my own. She did a terrific job of keeping things interesting and enjoyable.

We had an excellent experience with the Free Walking tour yesterday. Nuheal was a fantastic tour guide with lots of knowledge and a funny way of storytelling. We learned a lot about Argentina's history, society and how the country came to exist in the late 1800s. The tour is 3 hours, not one second too long. The opposite. We would have been happy to go on. If you have a chance go with Nuheal, also known as Jennifer. He was excellent.

Nahuel gave a great tour. He was interesting, intelligent and amusing. Not only did he understand the history of the city, he conveyed to the group the important nuances of each stage of Buenos Aires' development.

I highly recommend the tour, and if you are lucky you can also do it with Nahuel who is probably the best guide I’ve ever met.

This tour was excellent, even though it rained the whole way through! Our guide was Martin and he made it so interesting and accessible to learn about Argentina. I recommend doing this tour on your first day in BA as he gives many helpful tips around how to manage the city and an email full of great recommendations. He was super!

We were more than a little late to the start of the tour and we contacted the company who gave us the phone number of our guide, Nahuel. Although he had other people on the tour, he was kind enough to connect with us to allow us to find him and the group. He was smart, informed, fun, funny and just wonderful. We loved our time with him. It was entertaining and informative and a great time. We loved getting to know the city with him and would highly recommend him.
