Joel was an amazing tour guide! He was very thorough and informative, possessed so much knowledge on the history of Machu Picchu. He was patient as we had to take several breaks due to a handicapped family member and two highly active children. He also took several pictures of our family and individual with precise and great angles (totally a plus). This was a truly memorable and educational experience and will definitely be returning to do the 2 hour mountain tour next time with him requested. I highly recommend doing this tour, everything was organized very well and communication was very quick to reply back with questions prior to the tour. You will be so happy with your experience with Joel.

Joel Guzman Oviedo was a fantastic guide. We had two small children and he was patient with our speed. He didn’t make us rush at all. He was also incredibly knowledgeable.

We went on a tour to Machu Picchu from Aguas Calientes with Joel, and we highly recommend him! He went above and beyond. He met with us briefly the night before we left, to confirm arrangements and ensure we had all the necessary documents. On the day of the tour, he was on time to pick us up and walk to the bus that took us to Machu Picchu. While there, he shared a wealth of knowledge with us about the history. He was a kind, patient, and gracious travel host. We would be lucky to have him give us another tour.

Amazing tour! If you are going to Machu Picchu we’d recommend our tour guide Joel from WilkaTravel. He was super informative and spoke perfect english. He took lots of great pictures of us and even our engagement photos!! Best time to visit Machu Picchu is May/ June and I’d suggest go soon as restrictions are being put in place for tourism to reduce the numbers of people visiting.

Joel was a great guide! He met us at the train station, walked us to our hotel and prepped us for our Machu Picchu excursion the next day. He gave us all the information we needed to succeed. The day of it was wonderful. Joel met up with us after we hiked Machu Picchu Mountain and gave us a great tour of the historic site. He then went down the bus with us and walked us to the train station.
Note: if you want to take the picture at the guard tower - make sure you go on your way up to the hike or you may miss your chance.

1st the upgrade to the longer circuit above the city is well worth it. This was my 2nd tour with Wilka and due to mobility issues I was very worried about being able to transverse this route. After my 1st tour I contacted Wilka through WhatsApp and they arranged a private guide, again well worth the upgrade and a very good value. Whether mobility issues, a couple or family I highly recommend.
Not only did I get the individual experience with my guide William but I could move at a pace I could handle and take time to take pictures.
Keep in mind this tour like others only meets you off the train, arranging everything to make your way to Machu Pichu and back. If I had a question Wilka was available by WhatsApp until final pick up fron Inca Rail to return to my hotel.

Amazing day! Joel was a great tour guide and the weather was perfect on this day! Wish we had less time in Machu Picchu Pueblo and back to Cusco sooner, but overall great (long) day!! Recommend this option as it is hard to figure out how to time all the different aspects together!
