My wife and I booked this as a way of seeing the beautiful Cretan mountains and the cave of Zeus. What we got far exceeded our expectations. Our driver Geoff was absolutely brilliant - what he didn’t know about Cretan nature, herbs, culture and legends probably isn’t worth knowing. The views were amazing, we fed goats and also got lift a huge, very heavy stone on a cliff edge! 😂

Highly recommend this trip up into the mountains discovering the sights smells and sounds of the countryside. Geoff our guide is extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of the area including the flora, fauna and history. He is very amusing and kept us all entertained throughout the day. We had a fabulous authentic meal in a taverna in the mountains. We also had a tour of an olive oil producer in Old Malia.
Thanks to Geoff for a wonderful trip we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.

Geff was absolutely amazing,you could tell how much he loved his job which made it better on the tour,there wasn’t a dull moment at all.the history he told us he made it as fun as possible and not boring at all .we learnt so much about Crete.would definitely recommend doing this tour

If you want to see the "real Crete", i.e. away from the tourist hot spots, then go on one of the Safari Club tours. We went on the 'Katharo' route, and our driver was called Ruud 1. ( Yes they have two drivers called Ruud, Ruud 1 and Ruud2). He was very knowledgeable about numerous aspects of the country, the people, the animals and of course the history of Crete. We had an excellent barbeque meal with wine halfway through the trip, and the views of two plateaus were stunning, - this is 'off road', and then some!

What a Fab u lous Day.
We saw Birds of Prey ,Goats and shared our Land rover with 6 strangers who were really Good company.
One of the things we liked was the Guide Gary,prompted us to rotate our seats so that we all got a turn to travel up front with the driver.
Our guide Gary was very knowledgeable about the Area and shared lots of local stories and Traditions.
The lunch included in the Mountains was very Tasty and there was plenty of it.
A truly memorable day.
I don't usually do Reviews but Hand on ♥ Heart I would highly recommend this Cretian experience.

Our guide and driver gary was excellent and very knowledgeable of the surrounding area.the lunch at the terverna was very nice.
Well worth the money we paid.

This was the most amazing day, we saw real Crete villages not the tourist ones. Gary our guide was very knowledgeable and great fun. We got to see some amazing views, eat fresh local produce in the taverna, taste locally produced olive oil, raki and goats cheese. The wildlife in the skys was breathtaking vultures, kestrels and many other birds. Seeing the goats and meeting local people all added to the day. I would recommend these tours over any others in this part of Crete.

Excellent visit, well driven and narrated by Chris.
A visit to an olive oil factory, the arduous climb up to Zeus' cave, and then some breathtaking views during the 'off-road' sector. I can't say that 'Zeus' the Land Rover was comfortable, but it was great fun, and I would do the trip again.

We did the off-road tour with driver Thomas on May 13th, 2024. Lots of great impressions, great food in the tavern and lots of fun! We can only recommend this tour to everyone!!!! Note to Thomas, Highway to hell louder ;-))))
