What a fun way to get to the Grand Canyon! Our family enjoyed the train ride. We had fun as a family playing games, and looking out the window at animals and landscape. Tarol was our train car hostess. She made the trip so interesting. She told us many tales and facts that kept our attention. She even had cups of ice water waiting for us when we got back on the train. The snacks, drinks, music were great too. I highly recommend this unforgettable train ride to the Grand Canyon. I hope you are lucky enough to have Tarol as your train car hostess.

Definitely an experience of a lifetime. It was worth every penny. Nancy & Teryl in the Chief cars were wonderful!!! I absolutely loved every minute of the ride to & from The Beautiful Grand Canyon!! From the second you get on the train, there is entertainment all the way, from the short stories, the side shows, the beautiful views, the people waving & delicious snacks. I give it a million out of ten stars! Thank you for the experience!!

Excellent experience for friends and family. The Train host was so kind. The accommodations were perfect. We have more than enough time to hike at the Grand Canyon.

...a pleasant train ride to/from the Grand Canyon.

A cheesy gunfight show before departing, and a cheesy robbery on the return is fun if you have kids in tow. We enjoyed the comfort of the luxury dome car, but the other cars looked fine, especially if you have kids or need to save a little money.

Even though the trip is slow and methodical, it was a nice break from driving. The 3 hours spent at GCNP was just the right amount of time for us on a hot, sunny day. If we had more time, we probably would have just spent it sitting in the El Tovar bar anyway as our feet were worn out.

What an amazing experience. My little girl has always loved chukooo's.

She's 7 now and is still in love with them, even more now.

The staff was awesome, they made it what it was. I couldn't be happier!

The train ride was so fun! I really enjoyed it. Very scenic with lots of trees. Robbery on the way back was fun (bring small bills to tip the robbers if you want to). Our musician was great and played a few requests well. We had first class tickets going to the Grand Canyon and the orange juice, water, sodas, and fruit and pastries provided were nice. We had coach tickets back and were a little bummed after sitting in first class. I couldn’t decide if first class was worth the extra money so I only did it one way. It definitely is more money but it might be worth it if you like less people, less noise and bigger comfier seats and some snacks. We were in probably the coziest first class section next to the snack area of the first class car. There were 14 people in our first class car and the coach car was full of noisy people with bus style seats. First class had a little table and four seats facing each other. You get about 3 hours at the Grand Canyon and they drop you off at the village. We walked along the rim and looked at the village shops and had lunch. You could also do a tour for extra money but we had little kids with us and didn’t think they’d be interested. I feel like this is a must do for a visit to the Grand Canyon. It will take up a whole day though. We also stayed at the Railway hotel which was nice. There is a cowboy show in the morning before the train ride all the way at the far end of the train tracks. We missed it because we didn’t know where it was and saw it the next morning. It was okay.

Larry & Craig were great tour guides: The robbery on the train was great fun also. (And the musicians). The ticket gal explained everything well also! We could have used a sigh guiding us from the park lot to the station, otherwise a grand time!! My granddaughter also wanted to say: the snacks were good, and affordable! Thank you to all.

I use tripadvisor to get my trip to the Grand Canyon Railway Train trip they cancel my reservation that I paid $473.56 for the trip for first class and when I got there June 8 day after my birthday, they told me at the check-in with my voucher Tripadvisor cancel my Tickets my trip was a disappointed will never use Tripadvisor again. Do not recommend to use them as a third-party to get a trip or reserve anything that has to do with going on a trip or going out of town .

Friends recommended we take the train from Williams to the Grand Canyon, and we were glad we followed up on the recommendation. We purchased tickets for the observation deck on the way and first class on the return, both experiences were good. The observation deck on the way served mini muffins, tangerines, coffee and juice, on the return cheese and veggies were served - both self service. Alcoholic beverages were offered for a fee. If you are traveling in the summer, suggest bypassing the alcohol on the way and hydrate as much as possible, saving alcohol beverages for the trip back. The elevation at the Canyon was over 7,000 ft and the temp when we arrived was mid 90 degrees, the heat being oppressive. There was plenty to see at the Canyon and we had a nice lunch in the cool restaurant. Entertainment on the train was fun, recommend bringing $ for tipping.
