1. Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa
Catacombs of Kom al-Shoqafa, This is the most impressive of Alexandria’s ancient remains, dating from the 2nd century AD. Excavation started in 1892, and the catacombs were discovered accidentally eight years later when a donkey fell through a chamber ceiling. A long spiral staircase leads to the main hall. The stairs run down the outside of a shaft, which excavators used to transport the bodies of the dead. 2. Pompey's Pillar
Pompey’s Pillar (Serapium Oracle). Despite being Alexandria’s most famous tourist sight, Pompey’s Pillar is a disappointment. After all, it’s just a granite pillar—albeit at 88 feet, a very tall one placed on a hill surrounded by ruins. the pillar was misnamed after Pompeii's (106—48 Bc) by the Crusaders. In fact, it dates to the 3rd century AD, when i was erected in honor of the emperor Diocletian on the site of a Ptolemaic temple to Serapis. Helpful signs on the ruins name each virtually empty spot as a “pool” or “bath,” which to the untrained eye look like indistinguishable rocks, The late-model sphinxes lying around on pedestals add a little character, The most interesting element, ironically, is that from the hill you can get a glimpse inside the walled cemetery next door, as well as a view of a long and busy market street. & Corner of Amoud El Sawary.
3. Lighthouse of Alexandria

4. Mosque of Abu al-Abbas al-Mursi
The Andalusian style Mosque, on which the Al-Mursi Abu Al-Abbas Mosque was built, is characterized by domes and also the abundance of columns that support the roof, and also the minaret is tall, And also the arabesque and mosaic works within the windows and doors, and therefore the ornate mihrab raised from the minbar, all of this was evident inside the Abu Al-Abbas Al-Marsa Mosque, because it contains 16 marble and granite columns, and every column is one piece octagonal in shape, ending with a crown about eight meters high, four columns Ones of traction. 6. Ancient Roman Amphitheater

7. Ancient Roman Amphitheater
Stop at the RoThe amphitheater of Alexandria was discovered by coincidence in the year 1960. When the Egyptian government was getting ready to set up one of its buildings in the area of Kom El Dekka, one of the workers found a solid column underneath the dust and sand while preparing the location engineers. Immediately, an excavation team where down the location to examine what have been found. The Roman theatre was a very important discovery in the 20th century. It was proven that the theatre was built in the 4th A.D century and was used up until the 7th century passing by the Roman, Byzantine, and Islamic eras.

We booked a full-day tour of Alexandria, and it turned out to be an excellent choice. We thoroughly enjoyed immersing ourselves in the rich Greco-Roman history of the city and delving into the captivating story of Queen Cleopatra. The sights we encountered were truly breathtaking. Alexandria, with its stunning sea views and charming old European-style buildings lining the city center, exudes a unique beauty. A great way of taking a day trip from Cario. We went around the city to see the major places such as the catacombs, citadel and library. The tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. He even took us to a great seaside restaurant to end our tour! Five stars plus Tarek!!!

We were fortunate to have a private tour of Alexandria during our voyage on the Norwegian Gem cruise. Everything exceeded our expectations, as the pick-up and drop-off were punctual. Both the tour guide and the driver were exceptionally friendly and accommodating. Alexandria truly is a remarkable city, with its stunning sea views from the Citadel Quiet Bay Castle. We look forward to returning next year for another memorable experience.

Tarek was a wonderful and knowledgeable tour guide. His knowledge of archaeology and clear love of his country and culture made for a fascinating and informative tour. Our driver made getting from place to place easy and convenient, and trying authentic Egyptian food for breakfast and lunch added to the adventure. The Citadel, Mosque, Alexandria Library, catacombs and Roman amphitheater were not just seen but explained. Not to mention that Tarek was also an excellent photographer so we have wonderful memories of our visit to take with us!

Tarek and Sharif were fantastic! Tarek did an excellent job in explaining the history of the city, country and the wonderful sites we visited. Sharif was masterful in driving through the city and ensuring we were close to the sites. They were professional, knowledgeable, flexible, friendly, etc. They became our friends. The best tour we had throughout our cruising career.

We took a tour with Tarek to explore Alexandria where we docked during a cruise.

Tarek was incredible while communicating from the get go and throughout.

He tailored a tour according to our needs and interests. We visited the new library (a must), a local market and a hidden old colonial bar, ate local food and had a lot of interesting insights.
