The 52 species of birds we saw and Eddy as a guide. He clearly knows the local area and what one can expect to see given the season. The taco place we visited for brunch in Muyil was excellent, very flavourful and well made food.
It would have been great to add one more spot perhaps, given the price, but overall definitely worth it!
Eddy is a great guy and guide!

I challenged Eddy to find me the all the special Yucatan birds on 5 day trip which was fantastic. So many highlights but above all, Eddy is great company, a very skilled bird guide and a very safe driver. As well as over 200 species of birds , saw Mayan temples , communities , endemic mammals, reptiles and ate some fantastic street food.
Some highlights : being surrounded by thousands of feeding American flamingoes that you could almost touch , ocelot and kitten crossing the road in the forest , howler and spider monkeys , close trogons , 3 species of Toucan and toucanets.and a recently described new species of screech owl calling just above our heads. Eddy is super helpful in understanding the best light , distance and angles for nature photography and this was much appreciated. I can be hard to please but this trip was exceptional

My husband and I spent a fabulous morning with Eddy! He picked us up at our resort at 6am and we drove south of Tulum. We stopped at his home to pick up much needed and delicious coffee and cookies! We were amazed at the birds that we saw! In total we saw 58 species including Keel-billed Toucans and Collared Aracaris! He is very knowledgeable about birds and the Mayan culture. After leaving the first birding location, we drove to the Muyil Ruins where we saw many birds and learned about the Mayan history in the area. We finished the morning off with street tacos that were delicious! It was the highlight of our week in Mexico! We highly recommend this tour!

My partner and I are biologists who love birding and we were so happy to have chosen this tour! Eddy is super knowledgeable and such a pro at spotting even the tricky to see birds. I really appreciated that he kept a detailed eBird list that he shared with us promptly after the tour. We saw 62 species including toucans, hummingbirds, and Motmots! We learned so much from Eddy about wildlife in the area and about his experiences in bird research and conservation.
Eddy picked us up from our resort an hour away for a very reasonable extra cost and brought us to a site with an overwhelming number of beautiful birds! The tour was well paced and allowed us time to take photos and appreciate the birds. Eddy then brought us to the Muyil archeological site where he shared the history of the site with us. It was a pleasure to learn about Mayan history and culture in a serene site with few other tourists around. We then walked through a dense forest along a boardwalk in the nature reserve to look for rarer birds and saw enormous butterflies along the way. The bugs were surprisingly scarce though having bug spray helps so you aren’t swatting away mosquitoes. Finally, we stopped by a local spot for lunch and had what was definitely the best meal of our trip. I’ll be recommending this tour to my friends, even those who aren’t regular birders as I’m sure anyone who appreciates wildlife would enjoy it! Thanks again to Eddy for this tour being the highlight of our trip to Mexico!

Loved my tour with Eddy! Great combination of birding with Mayan history and culture, but it goes deeper than that: Eddy can tell you about all things natural, many that have a place in Mayan culture. We counted 47 species of birds! Eddy has an incredible talent for spotting and identifying birds, and his enthusiasm for them is infectious. And by the way, he's a guide for hire: if you want any sort of nature/history/culure tour on the Yucatan, contact Eddy.

I thoroughly enjoyed the birding experience offered by the local guide, Eddy. There were 3 other clients in the group. Eddy was very fluent in English and provided interesting information and lore about the Mayan pyramids. It really couldn't have been better. He took us to a couple of places, both were lush and rich with fauna. He spotted a wide variety of birds and was mindful for those of us who were taking photos. It was clear Eddy has a passion for birding. He was professional- punctual and prepared and quite pleasant. The lunch at the end of the tour was delicious. If/when I head to the Yucatan again, I will not hesitate to book another tour with Eddy.

I spent a great few hours with Eddy. He is a terrific guide; he's able to find and i.d. the birds, makes sure that you see them and explains field marks for similar species. Eddy is very personable and shared information about Mayan culture, some of which doesn't appear in the provided texts.
Although I'm careful about what I eat and drink in Mexico, I went for the Mayan lunch, and I recommend it highly!

We had a fantastic morning with Eddy today. He is a great guide and is clearly so very passionate about birds, nature, and his Mayan heritage. I am a novice birder, having just gotten into the hobby in the last couple of months and he made the experience fun, interesting, and easy for me. The two much more experienced birders also enjoyed themselves and saw quite a few species that they’d never seen before. I highly recommend this tour!

A very beautiful discovery of the wonders of Yucatan, both its fauna and its legends. We were able to get to the meeting place with the first collectivo, and we were not disappointed with the early wake-up call! Thanks to Eddy we were able to observe 47 different species of birds, including toucans and even the famous motmot. The visit to the ruins of Muyil was as educational as it was pleasant. We finished the visit with an excellent meal and very nice discussions.
We highly recommend this excursion!
