The premier Ghost Tour of the city, led by pre-Katrina storytellers. Unlike most tours of the type, you'll learn who the dead of the city were when alive, what keeps them attached to the places visited, and why in some cases they can never hope to leave! By the tour's end you'll hear stories of first hand accounts, histories to Explain the hauntings and understand more about the process of hunting ghosts, and perhaps see some of the large catalogue of ghost photos in our possession, if you'll pardon the phrase...

This tour was exceptional. I was there in February 2022 (that wasn’t an option when I filled out this form) and this tour far exceeded expectations. Jonathan is an excellent storyteller and really brings the information to life the history he leaves into the storytelling and surroundings really makes for an exceptional experience. Jonathan also made sure everyone felt included and let the group ask questions. He also did a great job of accommodating everyone’s needs, andI was surprised there wasn’t 1005 star reviews on here because he certainly deserves it. This is a not to miss tour if you’re looking for a good ghost tour in New Orleans I hope Jonathan continues to do this tour for a long time to come because it is a great experience.

We all absolutely loved this tour! Jonathan was so engaging and we all loved it (kids are 6, 11 and 13). He is a wealth of knowledge about haunted New Orleans, but also just general New Orleans history. He also was able to tailor the tour based on the group’s questions (for example, my kids asked him if he knew any stories about our hotel being haunted, so we ended the tour at our hotel, learning about its haunted history). Two hours was the perfect about of time, and you stop part way through for a bathroom break and can buy a drink at the oldest bar in the US.
There are so many companies that do haunted tours and we were so lucky to stumble upon his. I promise you will not be disappointed with this tour!

Good tour & fun guide!
I’ve taken several ghost tours, and Jonathan’s was a good one.
His stories were NOT the common tales that are told in New Orleans (I over heard several other tours while on mine). It was interesting and Jonathan’s humor came through.

Jonathan is the real deal! His stories really bring you in and hold your attention and his vibe is great. 10/10 would recommend to anyone who wants to learn the real truth of the dead who still call the city and buildings there home!

I've put off writing this review for months because I hate to give a negative review; I really do.
I visited NOLA in February for Mardi Gras, 2023. I always book a ghost tour or three, and decided to give Jonathan Weiss a try for the first time.
The tour met in Pirate's Alley at the Pirate's Alley Cafe. I'd never been in that part of the Quarter and so enjoyed discovering that part for the first time.
Our guide, who was Jonathan himself, met us outside. He was dressed as a pirate himself, which I thought was so cool. He was very charismatic and also very knowledgeable. Honestly, I was impressed with his knowledge of the torture that happened in Jackson Square. Others had glazed over it on other tours I'd taken, but he really knew the grisly details of what happened. We stood outside the locked gates of the park, and he told us about so many horrible things that happened: public executions and the like. I remember looking through the bars and imagining all those horrible things happening and wondering if their ghosts still linger there today.
There was a stop on the tour I'd never been to before, which impressed me. One sees the same locations over and over on these tours...which I never tire of since I am away from New Orleans except for these two precious months of the year when I'm able to visit for Mardi Gras. It was on a street where construction was happening, and you can see from the photos. This was a story about a young girl who had come from France to NOLA to marry an officer stationed there. I was barely able to pay attention to the story at this point because of the embarrassment I'd suffered by the words of our tour guide moments before.
I am a huge follower/fan of all things paranormal. I have visited New Orleans many years for Mardi Gras and spent my hard-earned $ there on several different ghost tours. One experience I will never forget is a few visits to the Charity Hospital Cemetery. This was during my tours with the Nola Ghost Riders. This group is very reputable and tries to deliver the best tour possible while also being VERY respectful.
On my tour of the open field at Charity Hospital Cemetery, you could feel the sadness there and I did have two supernatural contacts at that location. Everyone on that tour was so respectful of that open burial space and the Katrina memorial in that spot.
Now, coming back to my tour with Jonathan... Being such a paranormal enthusiast, I wondered if he had been out to the Charity Hospital Cemetery and if he'd felt the paranormal connections I had there. I asked him about it when he called for questions about the paranormal during our tour. I just started to ask him if he'd ever been out to Charity Hospital Cemetery, and he totally cut me off. He didn't even let me finish my sentence. He said something along the lines of having no respect for any groups who go out there and how disrespectful he considered such a thing.
All eyes in our ghost tour group then turned on me. I honestly have never felt so humiliated in my life. He turned my question into a spectacle of me going out and being disrespectful to the dead. I have never had that intent and would never go out with a group who felt that way. I would leave immediately.
But on this tour, after he did what he did, I (to my self-disgust) shut down. He humiliated me in front of the entire tour group, calling me out for something totally inaccurate. I have nothing but respect for spirits and reach out with the intent of helping or understanding. But the damage had been done. For the rest of the tour, I felt so humiliated. So much so that I couldn't really enjoy the rest of the evening. I will also point out that he knew the entire group was from Canada (me) or somewhere else and he insulted America and Americans, basically calling all of them stupid, which I also found incredibly insulting...given his city is American, whether he likes it or not.
At the end of the tour, I think he was basically trying to make up for what he said. He must have acknowledged at some point that he had totally humiliated me in front of the entire group for enjoying the paranormal. He kissed my hand and said some flattering things, which I found too-little-too-late.
This guy has the confidence and knowledge of NOLA to be a TOP-NOTCH tour guide...and this would have been one of my favourite tours, had he not humiliated me in front of our entire group simply for having an interest in another location. How can you say going to Charity Hospital Cemetery is wrong when you stand in front of Andrew Jackson Square and recant the atrocities that happened there? Please, tell me how that is any different? Why did you have to treat me that way and make me feel so horrible? I'd really like to know.
He needs to lose some of his arrogance. Then, he might truly be one of the best paranormal tours in NOLA. But you will never get there by insulting one of your guests for their interest in the paranormal because they took a tour outside your own. I wouldn't tour with him again because I would never want to feel so humiliated again just for wishing to connect with those who have passed and always in a way that is respectful.

Beyond happy I scheduled this tour with Jonathan. This was the perfect blend of horror, history, and respect for New Orleans' rich culture. Jonathan is incredibly knowledgable of the French Quarter and was able to answer all questions in depth. You'll leave this tour with a deep respect for New Orleans.
