In this 2-hour Japanese Whisky Tasting tour, you'll visit a local whisky bar with an English-speaking guide, taste different types of Japanese whiskies, and learn more about what makes Japanese whisky different from other whiskey in the world.

Availability: Every day from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM except holidays (tours may start at 8:30 PM on some occasions)

• A current valid passport or identification card is required on the day of travel (proof of age may be required at bars)
• Comfortable walking shoes are recommended
• Dress code is smart casual
• Location change: in some cases, if the local bars in Ginza are not available, the location may be changed but will still be within Central Tokyo. We will notify you of the change within 7 days prior to the event date, unless otherwise specified.

• Smoking: please be aware that many establishments, especially bars, will allow smoking in Japan
• What is Japanese whisky?
• Whisky may not be originally from Japan, but recent years saw the world taking notice of whisky bottles coming out of the country. Japanese whisky brands Suntory and Nikka, etc., have now joined the ranks of its Scottish counterparts in terms of quality ratings and popularity.
• What kinds of Japanese whisky will I be tasting?
• The whisky selection will be different each day, depending on availability. Some examples are: Chita, Yamazaki 12, Hakushyu 18, Hibiki Blender’s Choice, Yamazaki 1982, and other whisky.
• In this 2 hour small group Japanese whisky tasting tour, visit a local bar with your tour guide to taste various types of Japanese whisky (4 – 5 short glasses, depending on availability) and learn about the subtleties and differences of these different brands, how the whiskies are aged and what sets the Japanese whisky apart from others around the world. You will also be able to experience what a local bar in Tokyo feels like, as you enjoy the atmosphere, talk to the bartender (with the help of your English-speaking tour guide) and sip on your chilled whisky (spelled “whisky” not “whiskey” in Japan). Some rare Japanese aged whisky may be available for purchase (not included) at the bar for guests interested
• Please note that this tour will be at a local bar only, and does NOT include a distillery tour.
• Moderate Cancellation Policy
• 100% refund for cancellations made up to 4 days before the start time of the experience. Cancellations made after that time period will receive no refund
• How far in advance should I book?Preparing an event requires some time, especially if reservations for restaurants or other venues are required. We recommend making a reservation as early as possible. Ideally, it should be 2 weeks before your travel date, or 5 days before the travel date at the very least. We may not be able to arrange your event in time so your booking request may be cancelled and you will receive a full refund.
• Why am I charged a service fee if I make a cancellation after you started planning the trip?
• Organizing and planning a trip or event requires a lot of time and if we have made reservations on your behalf, it may be very challenging to cancel some booking requests. Once we receive your booking and will start arranging your tour guide, buying tickets, making reservations at venues for your tour, etc.
• If you cancel the tour any time after we have sent you event details, the service fee of 15% of your total tour cost will be nonrefundable.
• If your cancellation falls within the fees applied to the Standard Cancellation Policy, the service fee of 15% will no longer take effect. You will only be responsible for the cancellation fee specified in the Standard Cancellation Policy. Please carefully review the terms and conditions specified on the checkout page.

• What if I'm late?
• We ask that all guests arrive at the location at least 10 minutes before the designated meet-up time. Since this is a group tour, we may not be able to wait for you if you are late. The tour will begin without the late guests and you can meet the rest of the group at the next location. Guests are provided with the tour guides’ phone number before the tour and you can call the tour guide if you need to meet the group in the next location.

This tour absolutely delivered. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable about Japanese whisky and its history. He patiently explained the nuances of each whisky we tasted, making even a relative novice like me appreciate the subtle differences. The bar itself was fantastic, it's a hidden gem tucked away in Ginza.

I booked this tour for a group of friends visiting from abroad, and it was a huge hit! None of us were whisky experts, but we were all curious to try Japanese whisky. This tour was the perfect introduction. Our guide, Hana, was fantastic. The bar had a great vibe – not too crowded, but lively. We loved chatting with the bartender (thanks to Hana's translations!) and hearing his recommendations. The whisky itself was delicious – we all had our favorites.

The bar is truly exceptional and a gem for all kinds of reasons, the owner must have a passion for Scotch and if you like whiskey, especially the old stuff, you shouldn't miss this tour. And the guide was incredibly kind and polite with us , what a wonderful woman

Our guide Sousuke is very knowledgeable and was able to order many types of drinks to suit our different tastes. My favorite is this Hibiki whiskey; I don't know how to explain it, but it's very smooth. After the tour, our guide went above and beyond and recommended other places in Ginza for us to visit on our own

Keizo, our guide, was very knowledgeable and entertaining & we got a good selection of whiskies from across Japan. A very good first introduction to the different whisky styles from Suntory. Keizo’s stories were very entertaining.

The whiskey tasting tour led by Toru was incredible! He was a very knowledgable host and was a great guide who explained everything given to us from proper etiquette, to whisky history in great detail. The bar he took us to for the whiskey tasting were absolutely incredible in terms of quality of food and atmosphere. Absolutely must try and would gladly book again!

One of the highlights of my trip. An intimate tasting at a bar, just me and Seizo. Seizo talked first about the history of whisky in Japan, to help set the context for the drinks, and then I had five tastings of single malts, blends, etc. I learned a lot about Japanese whisky as well as Japanese history, culture, and politics. Highly recommend!

This whisky experience was a definitely a highlight of our 9-day trip to Japan. Aikiko was an wonderful guide, who knows so much about whisky and Japanese culture. He's very paitient, good natured and sull of information. We learnt a lot about whisky history in Japan and tried 5 kinds of whiskies together, if you want to try some other types, you can request the restaurant at an additional cost. the tour guide also took nice pictures for us. Highly recommended!

We had a great night at a nice bar in Ginza. The meeting point was easy to find, and our tour guide was knowledgeable. The area boasts a variety of intriguing bar options. We particularly enjoyed the whisky tasting and had a great time together.
