Combine archaeology and nature on this exciting journey deep in the Yucatan jungle. Climb atop an authentic Maya pyramid, the breathtaking Nohoch Mul. Cool off in spectacular Akumal swimming and snorkeling along sea turtles.

The Cobá archaeological zone is famous for its well-preserved and impressively tall pyramid. Best of it all—it’s one of the few Maya pyramids where you can climb atop, so grab the rope and head upwards on the steep stairs.

The physically challenging effort is rewarded with a stunning view over the vast jungle surrounding you. In addition, hear about the history of the fascinating civilization while exploring the ball court and the smaller pyramids.

Continue to pristine Akumal Beach, where you embark on a relaxing snorkeling discovery. Keep your eyes open as you are likely to spot one or more sea turtles swimming calmly in proximity of the beach.

After the great wildlife encounter, relish a delicious lunch before your comfortable ride back to your hotel.

We set the tour through our hotel. The Coba tour was incredible and the guide provided many additional information about the structures. We also enjoy riding the little bike taxis in there.
The Akumal snorkeling with tortugas on the other hand felt rush, plus the place was extremely crowded.
Lunch was at Punta Venado and it was delicious and the beach was nice.

Our guide, Alan, was amazing. Aside from his great depth of knowledge regarding Coba, Mayan history and culture, as well as the modern life of Mayans, his passion for these people and their culture made for a fantastic day of learning and adventure and I would love to continue my own learning of this history.

The swim with the sea turtles was fun! We saw 3 or 4 turtles of various sizes as well as other really great sea life.

To cap off a great day, the delicious lunch on the beach gave us time to talk over our experience before having time to play in the waves.
