An experienced guide introduces you to the city of Tromsø and its century long history full of stories and anecdotes. You will encounter Tromsø's most important landmarks, including several northern superlatives and charming wooden houses from the city's time as central trade hub in the North. The tour also includes a guided tour at Tromsø's unique Polar Museum.

Most of the time was spent in the Polar Museum. Not a typical walking tour of a city. The guide was friendly but think the tour should be marketed differently. A few reviews mentioned this but unfortunately I did not read them all prior to booking.

Astrid lead our tour, and she is fantastic. She's a knowledgable guide who was born in the Arctic region, and has lived here most of her life. She really knows the area's history, loves to share it and is enthusiastic about the area. The three people in my party all thoroughly enjoyed our time learning about Tromsø, its people, and its history. Highly recommend this tour!

This was not a historical city walk. This was a walk to the museum where we spent over an hour learning about Norways history of artic exploration. The viator description should include that. I would not have booked if it had. The guide was very friendly and very knowledgeable about the history of Nordic exploration. So if that's your thing, this tour is for you.

Lionel had an in-depth knowledge of everything and related all with humor.
His presentation was so interesting and engaging that we hoped he would be giving a tour the next day.

The guide, Bernard, was extremely informed and communicated well, with a lovely sense of humor and important tangential facts. We walked through the important parts of town and visited the polar museum where he explained he exhibits very well. I delightful afternoon.

Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. We loved the detailed history of Tromsø and the explanation of exhibits throughout the Polar Museum. Going to the Polar Museum (admission included with tour) was a nice surprise since I didn’t realize it was part of the tour.

The walk was at the right pace with stops for sharing information of a historical as well as non historical value. Gives u a good oversight of the place and what to do with free time eg museums and eateries. Astrid was helpful and concerned about ones comfort. Overall a great way to get acquainted with the layout of the city.

We wanted to learn more about Tromso after the usual minibus tours chasing lights and reindeers etc….
We met our guide Astrid at the local indoor tourist centre in the bus station along with 3 other visitors, and her walking tour gave great insights into the history and culture of Tromso explaining about its local hero Roald Amundsen, first man to lead an expedition to reach the South Pole. We also got some recommendations on places to eat along the way (we tried them afterwards in the fish market cafe & small burger shop… delicious! )
This is a lovely relaxed stroll through the town, asking questions as we went along….. much better than just walking the town yourself and really not knowing what you are looking at.. well recommended.
