Refugee arrivals to Greece and Europe keep going. The media focuses intensely on the so-called ‘refugee crisis’ but often fails to mention why people have been forced to flee their countries.

This educational walk seeks to give you the chance to understand and observe first-hand their situation. Furthermore, we will draw parallels between what has happened in the history of Greece and what is currently happening in Syria, Afghanistan, and other countries of the wider region.

The idea is to make us realize that none of us are immune to turbulent times and that the refugees of today are escaping real danger. By understanding their situation, we can start to change our attitudes.

Please note that this experience might not be suitable for those who are easily overwhelmed. While the walk is safe and no harm will come to you, it’s important to be aware of the nature of this experience before booking.

Isaac opens your eyes to the challenges refugees face in Greece, significantly raising awareness on this critical issue. His deep knowledge imparted so much insight—I felt truly enlightened. This tour offers a unique perspective, one that I highly recommend experiencing. It's a valuable opportunity to explore a lesser-known side of Athens, away from the typical tourist attractions.

This tour was incredibly informative. Before this, I knew little about the refugee crisis, but I learned a great deal about its complexities. Isaac is extremely knowledgeable and made sure we felt comfortable throughout the entire walk. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who is looking for a different side of Athens and to explore areas and stories that typical Athenians don't know.

Isaac offers a very astute and unique look into an important issue in today’s Athens. This tour is best for those interested in social justice and politics. The tour takes you through the allegedly unsafe neighborhoods, so be aware of how it fits your group.
