The trip on the bus is long. But it is worth it. Because mountains, rocks and monistaries. The bus driver was safe. The break stops along the way were great. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable

This tour was beyond Amazing! It was so worth the drive to go see and learn about the monastery, quite a few, and go inside to experience them in person. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and able to share very unique and personal stories. She really cared about the tour and was very invested. Absolutely would recommend this tour. Don’t miss out.

Maria our tour guide was exquisite - informative, funny just spot on. The Monasteries were beautiful and their history incredible.
So happy we took the time to do this tour and bus ride to and from Athens was great.

IT is a must see. The bus ride is long, but it is worth it. If you have more than one day to see the monasteries you might want to stay the night but if not, this is the perfect way.
The option of lunch is a good idea as you can meet the other people on the tour, have a meal without any hassle.
Remember to have at least 10 euros cash per head on you to go into the monasteries, you can´t pay the entrance fee with debit/credit card. They have that option in the souvenir shops though.

This was an epic experience! Once of a lifetime opportunity. Amazing!! Even though it is a ways from Athens, it was well worth the journey.

Overall, this was very enjoyable excursion. The history and geography of the area are fascinating, and the views are incredible. Our guide was a lovely young woman who grew up in the area and has intimate knowledge of both religious and archaeological aspects of the tour. The tour itself deserves a 5, in my opinion, but the bus ride from Athens is VERY long. The coach was air conditioned, but pretty cramped.

You'll need the whole to day to travel to Meteora (5 hour drive on the bus) each way. However, it is a worthwhile trip if you have the time. The location is interesting and the various monasteries on the top of the mountains were all very interesting with nice views.

This tour is absolutely worth every penny and the time it takes to get there on the bus. Maria our tour guide was EXCELLENT!! She was extremely knowledgeable, personable and had a wonderful personality! I definitely recommend this tour.
