I had a terrific, packed two-day tour to Mount Nemrut, Göbeklitepe and Sanliurfa/Ur with Gobekli Tours. Taha also arranged for flights from Istanbul to Adiyama and back from Sanliurfa. Taha and Mehmet escorted me to the many sites and provided extensive information and guidance to understand the historical significance of what I was experiencing. These are some of the most important sites in the world for understanding the early development of human civilization.

Everything was fabulous with Taha as a guide. We did it as a family and will definitely come back. We highly recommend to do in 2 days.

Amazing day at Gobeklitepe and Sanliurfa. Taha is an excellent and knowledgeable guide who will adapt to the group. We went straight to Gobeklitepe for a breathtaking visit and then went for lunch in a local restaurant before going to the Abraham cave, Archeological museum and finishing with a delicious pistachio cafe in the bazaar. We had a blast and would highly recommend Taha !!!

We spent two weeks in Turkey and our two day tour with Taha and his associates at Gobekli Tours was the highlight of our trip. Gobekli Tepe was the reason we decided to visit Turkey in the first place and we were not disappointed. Taha Ozyavuz is one of those rare experts who has the ability to explain in terms even a novice can understand and appreciate.

Seeing the temple was a bucket list item for my husband who’s a big fan of the history channel, and it had piqued my interest after watching the TV show “The Gift” on Netflex. We laughed about this afterwards. Unlike what we saw on TV getting to Gobekli Tepe is much farther away than depicted.

We had decided to go to Turkey and then discovered the area we most wanted to see was not on the usual tourist tour circuits. This region of Turkey is located about 13 hours from Istanbul near the Syrian border. Not the tourist mecca other regions of Turkey are and because of this I felt like we got to see a more authentic Turkey.

Our tour was amazing from the places we were taken to eat, to the boutique hotel we stayed at and most especially our drivers: Sadin and Mahmut and tour guides: Huseyin and Mehmet who assisted Taha in explaining the places we toured.

We never once had to ask, as our guides always insisted, on taking our photos in the picturesque places they took us. Huseyin even sent me photos he had taken previously of Mount Nemrut when it snowed there.

We have so many special and unexpected memories crammed into our two days with Gobekli Tepe Tours:

Sadin driving us by the aftermath of the earthquake as we embarked upon our tour, the beautiful venue/lake where we had lunch our first day. Climbing Mount Nemrut with Huseyin, and him advising me to slow down. Have to admit I broke a sweat and it was cold. Then the unexpected artist’s rendition of one of the heads of the God’s sitting off from the ancient ruins.

Circling the wishing tree seven times at Gobekli Tepe. What looked like a space ship and is a nod to Ancient Aliens that covered a nearby excavation site.

Visiting Abraham’s pool with Mehmet where we were allowed to go inside the temple to pray. I didn’t expect to get to do that.

Mahmut stopping to greet his son as he drove us through his village on the way back to the airport and how he and Mehmet stopped for me to take photos of a goat herder and his goats on our way to Gobekli Tepe. This is not something we would see in the United States.

Enjoying the ice cream at an outdoor restaurant bazaar with Taha and Mehmet and the pigeon pooping right next to where Mehmet sat smoking. The empty cigarette packet with its graphic health warning pictured on it he gave me for a souvenir.

The kindness everyone showed us beginning, during and after our tour was exceptional. Taha reached out not just by text, but with calls as well to make sure everything went well, we made it safely to our hotel- later back home. Always with an invitation to visit them again.

The only thing I would change about this tour is I wish we could have heeded Taha’s advice and added more days to it.

Taha was a great guide in what turned out to be two great and memorable days for us. His knowledge and familiarity with the research enterprise gave us that little extra access to and understandings of the most recent findings. I can recommend booking this tour.

I couldn't believe I was standing right next to Neolithic sites that had been (deliberately) buried for 11 thousand years... The power and beauty of Göbekli Tepe and Karahan Tepe are not to be missed. I also very much enjoyed the visit to Sanliurfa and the pond of the sacred fish, where so many families were enjoying themselves on a beautiful day. Our guide Taha and his colleague were amazing founts of knowledge; they also saw to our every need in terms of transportation, meals, and a stay at a lovely historic hotel.

Amazing experience from start to finish! Mr. Taha arranged a personal itinerary from the initial inquiry from flight and transfer arrangements to accommodation, all we had to do was show up.His hospitality welcomed us from Sanlurfa airport to our beautiful boutique hotel with a short introduction of the city. Following days were pure immersion to the region with his profound knowledge of the history and culture; most of all we felt at home alongside his associate Mr. Mehemed Ali. No doubt the best choice when it comes to exploring Gobleki tepe and the rich history of Turkey. We’re looking forward to our next adventure with Mr. Taha and his amazing team!

First of all our private tour and guide Taha is first rate! His knowledge of Gobeckli Tepe was incredible, interesting, and engaging. Taha gave us a unique experience, weaving in a local’s perspective for our tour and incorporating a great lunch in Urfa. Our transportation was very comfortable and we felt very safe with our entire tour. We highly recommend using Taha’s group for your touring needs. We plan to visit Turkey again and for sure will be planning a more extensive experience with Taha again.

I could not be more impressed by Taha, my guide to and in Gobekli Tepe. His pride of place was obvious from the start. He calmly answered every question and provided the informatiin and reassurance I needed to make the trip. He also recruited and supervised a guide and driver so I could see the hill in the wider landscape and explore other sites. He managed every detail including the flight from Istanbul. My only regret is that I did not take more time in this amazing place.
