We will help you to refuse all single-use plastic disposables from all venues we visit and provide you with a reusable food container, chopsticks, a spoon, and a reusable water bottle, etc. It’s our mission to encourage and take people to places which they wouldn’t have found on their own. We provide cultural immersion tours, that help people have an in-depth Yunnan experience whilst promoting local sustainable businesses and traditions, keeping the local communities prosperous and alive!

On March 2nd of this month, I went to the Obara Dam release ceremony in Kijicho, Unnan City, Shimane Prefecture.
The release ceremony only takes place once a year, so it snowed heavily on the day, but I made the effort to go. If the weather had been good, in addition to the release ceremony, there were plans for a dance by local high school girls and a performance by the police band, but these two events were cancelled.
Still, there were stalls and other events, and the release was dynamic and worth seeing.
I have also been appointed as a tourism promotion ambassador.

I really liked this tour, and Leo is such a wonderful guide and a decent human being 😊 I so enjoyed seeing and sampling all the different delicious food stuffs and veggies, fruits that I have never seen before! Living in Shandong I don't normally see these kinds of things, so that was amazing. Leo is prepared with his own containers so it was completely plastic free. If I had any questions about the variety of food on display he answered everything and was very knowledgeable.
As it was Chinese new year some stalls were closed, so we didn't get to see the many different kinds of beans they normally have, but I'm hoping to come back in the summer to check it out again, as I had so much fun the 1st time 😀
As the rice noodle restaurant was closed (due to CNY) Leo made an alternative option for us and that was to hike a nearby mountain with a temple at the top. That was AWESOME! We had our lunch up there consisting of all the yummy fresh snacks we bought from the market.
At the end we had dinner at an amazing vegan restaurant where we were treated like royalty 👑 The people of Yunnan are so welcoming and friendly, when you go you will see what I mean 😊 And the delicious food makes you feel very full and satisfied 🍲😌
The vibe in Kunming is completely different to other fairly large cities in China. It reminds me oddly of Bangkok, and the weather is oh-so-gorgeous.
If you are vegan / vegetarian / flexitarian / pescatarian / meat eater or just plain curious about all things vegan and zero waste living, don't hesitate to contact Leo and you'll be guaranteed to have a wonderful time, whatever tour you choose.

The wet market tour is super interesting, so many (to me) unknown fruits and vegetables and things that Leo knew about and explained to me. I really liked that you can also try everything! I felt very comfortable with him, he is super friendly and easy to talk to. And you can feel and see that he is through and through living a sustainable lifestyle. Although this topic isn’t new to me of course, Leo’s commitment and the talks we had inspired me even more and I keep using cotton bags much stricter since our tour :) A win-win-win experience!
Prepare your eyes and especially stomach for plenty of interesting and good food!

We come from Shanghai and this is the first time visiting Kunming, Leo is like a friend, he will introduce the schedule first and tell you his motivation of the zero-waste vegan tour, I admire his idea to help protect the environment and start from myself.
We had an unforgettable experience in Kunming market, not only because of the authentic food, but also because of the passionate and real sellers, they were friendly to share the food and vegetables, it’s comfortable to be in the communication and build connections with them. You’ll eat a bunch of tasty food, so I would suggest you don’t fill yourself so fast and leave some space for the final noodle, the soup will amaze you!
Finally, thanks Leo for the journey and the extra time spent, we were lost in the joy of communication and time was short.
