The tour was great and the vaults were so interesting but I mostly want to thank Linda who could not have been more knowledgable, friendly and hilarious. We had such a brilliant time and learnt so much. She had us in stitches and included members of the group in her tales. Thank you Linda, from Brenda’s group!
Recommend this highly to anyone looking to do a tour whilst in Edinburgh.

Linda was the most outstanding tour guide we have ever had. She was not only highly knowledgeable but had a great sense of humor. She made everyone in our group feel special. This was the first of several tours we did with this company and they are so friendly! The best experience ever! Highly recommended!

You cannot think of visiting Edinburgh without seeing her insides, learning what she was all like. You must go underground. Mercat Tours have been around for a long time and they do a great service to the city and its history.

We really enjoyed this tour! Our family was looking for something fun and educational to do during our two days in Edinburgh, and this tour fit the bill perfectly! Our guide Veni was lovely and knowledgeable and it was a great way to orient ourselves with some of the city’s history and culture! Thank you!!

One of the best tours I I’ve ever done. The whole family (one teen and 3 adults) loved it, and they generally hate tours. So, that says a lot. Linda, our guide, was very informative and really made the history of the vaults come to life in a very entertaining way. Great experience-highly recommend!

Great family experience. Good audio and the tour was a perfect length. Tour guide did a great job to set the scene and we liked seeing the actual artifacts uncovered from the vaults.

We had a tour guided by Linda, who was fantastic. Not only was Linda so knowledgeable about the history of the area, she was also funny & personable. The tour was excellent value for price, and an excellent way to learn about some of the lesser known, underground history of Edinburgh. I would say this is a "must-do" for anyone visiting the city - and very accessible regardless of one's length of stay at 75 minutes long.

Excellent tour! Shannon is an amazing ghostly ghoulish storyteller. She brought to life the tales of daily life above ground and below ground. Highly recommend tour for fun and learning. Every story told is true and backed by historical documentation.
