We call it the Golden Circle for a good reason – in just one day you can experience some of the most extraordinary places in Iceland and truly understand what makes this country so unique.

We meet up in Reykjavik, where you and your traveling buddies hop aboard, and we head straight for Þingvellir National Park, one of the UNESCO World Heritage sites in Iceland.

Next up is one of the most popular spots in Iceland, the Great Geysir. Although Geysir itself is inactive nowadays, the "little" Geysir called Strokkur is shooting vast jets of boiling water from 20 meters up to 40 meters.

After the geyser area, get ready for the next amazing stop, at the iconic Gullfoss waterfall, the "golden waterfall.

At the end of the day, we stop at the Secret Lagoon to take a relaxing swim. Trust us, this is the perfect way to end a day full of exploring.

WHAT TO EXPECT

1. Thingvellir National Park
Our first stop is at Þingvellir, the place of the first Icelandic parliament. The first parliament was established there in 930 AD and it is, therefore, the oldest one in Europe. Besides all the history you can also see the Mid-Atlantic ridge. This is the split of the tectonic plates that divides Europe from North America.
2. Geysir
This "water puddle" gives its name to all the other Geysers in the world. "Strokkur", the little brother of Geysir, is still active today and he erupts every 5-8min and it is truly a big spectacle.
3. Gullfoss Waterfall
Last but not least is Gullfoss, the golden waterfall. In the summertime, up to 130.000 l/s are running down this powerful waterfall. In good weather conditions, we are also able to see Langjökull glacier as well.
4. Fridheimar
Iceland is well known for its geothermal energy. We don't only use it to heat our houses, we also use it to grow vegetables in greenhouses. Friðheimar Tomato Farm is probably the best place to experience it. We will take a short tour through the greenhouse and taste their delicious tomato soup.
5. Secret Lagoon - Gamla Laugin
The day isn't over yet. There is no better way to end a great day with a relaxing swim in geothermal water. Your guide will drive you to a thermal pool called "Gamla Laugin" (The Secret Lagoon). It was formed in 1891 and is still a popular place for all the locals in the area. It is therefore the oldest swimming pool in the country with a constant temperature of 38/40 °C, thanks to the hot waters from surrounding geothermal activity.

Awesome tour! The tomato farm, nature, and lagoon were some of the coolest things in Iceland. Michal was also a fantastic tour guide, letting us in on crucial information and rest at the right times.

It really was a small group, we were 10 and everyone was so nice, we got to connect with each other.
Our guide: Smari was very thoughtful, he made everyone feel confortable. Besides giving us all the standard information, he would caught our attention to some small beautiful detail in the landscape ou related with iceland's history and culture.
The tour is balanced, we didn't feel rushed, the stop at tomato farm is a nice touch and the end in the lagoon is perfect.
Begore leaving, at the end of the day, we get to listen to a mini concert in the nature because Smari is a musician and perform one song for us. It was a very pleasant day.

Just came back from this tour. It was wonderful. Our guide Smari, gave us so much information on our way to the stops . He is also a great musician . The gysers and waterfall were amazing . Lunch at the tomato farm was a high light . Ending up at secret lagoon was a relaxing way to end the trip. I highly recommend

A well rounded golden circle tour and the tomato farm is definitely a highlight to not miss!! Smari was our guide and had great stories to tell along the way. He kept us on time and made sure we weren’t rushed! This is truly a small group tour so it is easily manageable and you don’t feel farmed out to one of the bigger bus tours.

Der gesamte Ausflug war sehr toll. Es war super organisiert und der Tourguide Smàri war sehr nett und hat viel erklärt und erzählt. Es war wunderbar und empfehlenswert.

What an absolutely great, well planned and thoughtful day spent with Smári! So many tours can drag on and on so you feel like you paid to take a nap. This was the real deal - really can’t say enough great things about Holiday Tours and the special surprises we had on our trip! I can’t wait to return to Iceland and will definitely book with Holiday and request Smári as our guide!
