Attila was our host and guide and interpreter. He was so good!
He gave clear instructions as to where to meet as he had no permit to drive to our hotel. We found him easily.
He had comprehensive knowledge and insight to this particular culture of Budapest. We toured 2 synagogues with great similarities and great differences; one more established in the neighborhood the other newly renovated and serving as both synagogue and cultural center.
Attila was a gifted interpreter, his friendliness and personality were warm and welcoming.
We had lunch with "George" and "Giselle" (that's as close I can get to their Hungarian names) who treated us to a wonderful lunch and a visit of common experience and uncommon kindness.
I don't see how it could've been any better.
If we ever return, Attila will be once of our first contacts to ensure a great experience.
Highly recommended.

We were delighted to be met by our Guide Andras promptly at our holiday apartment. He explained that he had grown up in the area and was able to tell us much about the history of the part of the town in which we were staying. He drove us around some of the sites and explained a little of their history and we had time to take in the Shoe Monument by the waters edge. Andras had organised a visit to a reform synagogue which was quite hidden from the street. With Andras acting as a very efficient translator we were able to walk around inside the Synagogue and ask as many questions as we wanted and also to take photos with permission. The tour included a meeting with several members of the congregation for coffee and delicious Kosher cakes. The high spot of the day was being taken to the home of Andras parents where we received a very warm welcome and the most amazing and authentic Hungarian meal cooked by his lovely Mother....together with his father George we felt like part of the family.
If you want a truly different but meaningful way to visit Budapest and have some memorable experiences then we can suggest this is a trip not to be missed.

On November 12th, I took this "The other Jewish tour in Budapest"
Mr.András is the guide and was a great guide!
First of all, it was wonderful to show me the "hidden synagogue".
It is as beautiful as a jewel, and explanation about history. I was very impressed.
Then "Hospitality with home cooking" was really delicious and I had a good time.
Fun chat and yummy meals and brandy. It was very satisfying.
I asked Mr.András to take me to the airport at my last day in Budapest because He is very nice. It was very convenient and pleasant for Mr. András to take me to the airport at a reasonable rate. From the beginning to the end his guide was perfect.
If you are looking for Jewish tour, you should choose this Mr.András tour. You absolutely will not regret it!

To tell the truth, I also took another "Jewish heritage tour" in Budapest with a different guide. The tour was three times the price for his tour. It should have been a 4 hour tour, but it ended in 2.5 hours. According to his itinerary, He was supposed to take me to a Kosher cafe ,but he didn't take me to the cafe which I wanted to go to. and the end of the tour the guide should have taken me to the hotel after the tour, but he told me "You can go back to the hotel by that tram." Overall, I had a wonderful time and If I go to Budapest again, I would choose Mr.András tours without hesitation.
