We were cancelled from Monday to Tuesday. That was ok…but then on Tuesday’s tour the tour bus had no air conditioning.

I have nicely asked via email that we get a discount. The bus ride for two hours was horrifically hot, young children were crying and irritated, several elderly people including my husband and I were so hot and it definitely wasn’t good for our health. I received an email stating they would give us a discount and then when i wrote them when we got home to say I hadn’t seen a discount they never responded.

Very unresponsive and I don’t see why…they are obviously a very busy company. It was a horrible afternoon with high temperatures and we ran to the brewery to cool off and then the beach restaurant to be in the shade.

Please be careful with the cancellations and bus safety and air conditioning.

Our tour guide Prophete was awesome and very friendly, I definitely would recommend taking an island tour with him. He is very knowledgeable and very patient answering all my family’s questions.

We loved this tour and would highly recommend it. It gave us an opportunity to see parts of Provo that we would not otherwise get to in a car on our own. In a short amount of time, we were given the history of some landmarks. We did not feel hurried at all, and the places are small enough to get in and out of pretty quickly. Our vehicle had about eight people, so it made for a nice relaxing tour. The van had air conditioning and very comfortable seats. The Junkaloo Museum and lunch at Bugaloo’s were highlights.

Booked a half day tour with Kennetta, Getting to know Provo. There are 9-11 stops depending. Salt Mills shopping, The Hole, Cheshire plantation, Junkanoo Museum, Bugaloo's, Turk's Head brewery. Wadley was a really nice guy and guide. Lots of information about the neighborhoods and developments in Provo. Great food at Bugaloo's. Fantastic cultural info at the Junkanoo museum(Really a national treasure). Guided tour of Cheshire Plantation, Limestone Hole. Turk's Head brewery was interesting and refreshing. Got a chance to walk-thru to see where the brews were made and packaged. They also have spirits for those not into beer. A really nice tourwith helpful island insights from Wadley. Would certainly recommend

Positives:
Our driver/guide CJ was very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive to guests needs.
The Junkanoo museum was an interesting stop that provided cultural background on the celebration of Junkanoo and the costumes used/created. This is a neat stop and can be done on its own.

Not so positive:
The shuttle AC was not equipped to keep the bus cool.

The stops chosen on this “tour” were not what you’d expect especially considering the price paid.

At The Ports of Call shopping center only one shop was open which had no quality souvenirs or anything local. We’d have no desire to return here.

Cheshire Hall, however a history site, was not adequately showcased. The property guide was rude and very fast paced to rush you through a handful of areas. For one guest who was a bit slower to keep up he remarked “glad you decided to join us” when she made her way to the top of the hill. We’d have no desire to return here.

The Hole - is just that. A hole in the ground which seemed like a stop to just kill time on a tour. We’d have no desire to return here.

Bungaloos for lunch - the area unfortunately was not friendly on the nose and smelled like rotting seaweed. It was not a beautiful beach site that other areas on the island afford you. On the bus before heading to the restaurant, our tour guide had all guests fill out on a pre selected small menu what we wanted. I checked off the $10 conch fritters. When we got to the restaurant we were told those menus were out dated to order from their menu. This same company, Get to Know Provo, had just done this exact tour the day before for several other Beaches property guests, so how did they not “know” the menu and pricing was “outdated” ? Those same conch fritters ended up being $17 plus 12% tax and 15% service charge. This stop for lunch was not worth it in our opinion.

Turk’s Head Brewery- the draft beer selection was good. However, not a single guest on our tour did the brewery’s tour because they charge you an additional $15 as it wasn’t included in our tour price. They also only accept cards and no Amex or cash. Several people did not know this ahead of the tour.

Our tour was delayed by a day so we took the tour on the Friday before we left. Clayton was fantastic. Funny and knowledgeable about the sites. We loved our air-conditioned coach. Our only regret was that we didn't know that Omar's Beach Hut was such a great place to have lunch while enjoying the ocean breeze.

Visiting the plantation was disturbing because we saw the 10' x 10' slave house where twenty people were forced to live.

Overall it was a great way to discover Provo.

I will recommend the tour to my friends.

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Clayton. He was upbeat, fun and attentive. There’s not a lot to see on the island but he made the most of pointing out whatever he could. The museum was entertaining and it was interesting to hear about the history of the plantation (although that particular guide couldn’t be more boring if he tried). Lunch with the other tourists at Omar’s was delicious and fun! Overall, it was time very well spent and we really appreciated the air conditioned mini bus as it was a very hot humid day. I would recommend this tour as a nice change to water activities.
