Mount Etna is the highest active stratovolcano in the world.
We propose to spend a day with us in a small friendly group to discover a beautiful nature, endemic flora and fauna and the amazing environment of Mount Etna.
We will pick you up in the morning in the certain meeting point (8.30 piazza Stesicoro 32, Catania or 9.15 piazza S.Alfio in Trecastagni - PLEASE SPECIFY WHERE). On the way to Etna we will stop on a village for a coffee break and to buy food for the lunch time.
We will drive to reach the altitude of 2.000 above sea level. At this altitude we will start our moderate hike off the beaten tracks (approx. 3 hours) to admire the fascinating landscape of the Valle del Bove, the biggest caldera of Mount Etna and its moon like deserts. From there we will enjoy breathtaking views of the summit craters and the surrounding landscapes facing the Ionian Sea.

I would recommend the adventurous hike to anyone considering it, including members of my own family visiting later this year. The route was challenging but never felt unsafe or like a chore. Alessio was a fun guide with a lot of knowledge about local nature and history (and spoke impeccable English)

Come to Catania and not climb a volcano? Sounds a bit boring! That's why I already knew in advance that I would take a guided tour. And that's exactly what happened!
First we drove up to the volcano itself (even a little higher), and stopped near a small cafe to get ready - to change our shoes, get dressed, take water. I saw a review here that they didn't know they needed water and so didn't take any. How silly! Take about a liter!
The climb itself was not the most difficult, only at the end, I was exhausted because the height was a steep climb, well, and because we had been walking for quite a long time by then. And even though I'm a sporty girl, I realized I should add more cardio training. Along the way we stopped, caught our breath, and looked at plants, rocks, and species, our guide talked about each one and even asked questions
The view from the top is breathtaking so it was definitely worth it! Well, the descent was the easiest part! I enjoyed my group, a couple from Finland and an American, we helped each other and also shared our experiences of traveling in Sicily.
Bottom line: I returned very dirty, tired, but super happy. And now I have the experience of conquering a volcano that I can tell even my relatives about at all family holidays to avoid questions about stability, kids, and such)))) Highly recommend!

Our guide, Alessio was brilliant, so knowledgeable and obviously loves Etna. Not only did we learn about the volcano itself but also its fauna and flora. He was extremely attentive and we felt ourselves to be in a very safe pair of hands throughout. I would highly recommend this excursion.

Visiting Catania and not climbing Etna is a shame. We found a beautiful day and spectacular photos. Maybe the ride up the chairlift and the subsequent transfer to the shuttle was a little expensive...but all things considered, it was absolutely worth it

The trip was canceled due to bad weather. The website says you will get a full refund. However, this is not true. If you contact the excursion, you will not receive an answer. Horrible.

We had a fantastic trip with Ernesto, our driver and guide. He was an expert on Mount Etna and had many interesting things to tell us. He provided walking poles, gaiters, walking boots and windproof jackets if you needed them. Long trousers are best and also long socks recommended to stop grit getting into your feet. After an hours drive from Catania we had a stop to get a coffee, snack, and use the toilet. Then once we were kitted up we had a 3 hour walk (with plenty of stops) up and then back down again to the bus. The route Ernesto took us was away from other tourists, and we hardly met anyone else on the trip. The views were amazing, we were very lucky with the weather and saw smoke coming out of the volcano. Altogether a great day. Many thanks.

It was a brilliant tour with a brilliant guide. The guide had everything you needed. The was no rush so plenty of time to see everything. It was worth the money and I would recommend this tour.

Great day overall. Julian and assistant were great guides and gave plenty of information. You could tell their experience and expertise as they went up slowly and with intermittent breaks to make sure no one suffered from any altitude sickness. We had a mixed bag of a day, starting with sunshine, t-shirts and sunscreen to then cloud moving in at highest point and then hail storm and almost complete white out on way down. Great knowledge by Julian got us back safely. What a day, loved it, amazing scenery created by Etna.

Really good hiking program on Etna. The guides are friendly and told is interesting facts about the vulcano. The hike itself is easy, takes roughly 3 hours with a lot of stops when you can rest. Prepare for the unprwdictable weather, we started in sunshihe and shirts and endid up in jackets and hail 🙂 100% recommend
