A significant cultural heritage, the most important spiritual center in Montenegro and rural way of living are the best combined in this tour. It includes the visit to the most important archeological site dating back to Roman period – Doclea, a city founded in the first decade of the 1st century and situated only a couple kilometers from downtown Podgorica; the spectacular Ostrog Monastery – the most visited spiritual center in Montenegro and, finally, a nice rural area stretching along Zeta river valley which has recently been declared a nature park…
You will find out what happened in different historical epochs in this area, why Ostrog is such a popular monastery as well as why fig is an important product for one tribe and locals inhabiting the nearby area.
You will enjoy the view on Zeta River, cross over its interesting bridges, pass by old mills, and ultimately have an opportunity to taste some local products.

Amazing tour seeing the history and natural beauty of Montenegro. Nino was a brilliant tour guide who was friendly, informative and fun. I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Montenegro.
Every part of the trip was awe-inspiring; from seeing the chapel housing the remains of Saint Basil in the Ostrog Monastery to the idyllic beauty of the Zeta River and the historic remains of the Roman city of Doclea.

We had a great time with Nino our tour guide, we went to various parks, Ostrog monastery, Ate at various local restaurants.
Nino took us around even to places he wasn't obliged to, he was very helpful in showing us around the city, teaching us about the culture and ways, the do's and don'ts. We absolutely enjoyed ourselves and would highly recommend this to anyone going to visit Montenegro.
Thank you Nino
From Maryjane and Roy!

I really like that we are able to learn about the culture and history of Montenegro through this. It’s interesting to see the local people and we even tried some delicious delicacies. They are one of the kindest people that I met. You should go and explore this beautiful country. Nino has been amazing throughout the tour! I really recommend this tour!

Amazing views of a different part of montenegro and our guide was very helpful and informative. Very considerate and checking everything was okay. We enjoyed the monastery and views of lake and visit to Montenegrin family. Nice cake, wine, juice.
Only criticism would be that some more walking in the beautiful nature park and along the river would make it even better. Such a calm peaceful area and we were yearning to do a good walk.

Our guide Nino is very knowledgeable, experienced and nice. He answered all the various kind of questions I asked about Montenegro and the Balkans. I also joined the tour to Budva, Perast and Saint Steven.

Nino was a wonderful guide whilst I was on my solo travelling in Montenegro and made it much more authentic even during the stormy weather of that particular day. Nature park Zeta especially, is an amazing sight and a lovely part was Nino taking me to visit his parents house who happen to live within the park and being able to try some of their homemade wine and dried figs. Nino is very knowledgeable with the history, geography and religious aspects of Montenegro which was great to learn about. One of the best experiences and private tours i’ve been on.

Difficult to choose just one favorite thing, considering all that was included! Today I saw the clearest water I have ever seen cascading down a natural waterfall. I had fresh, homemade pomegranate juice at a local village as a guest in a home. I saw one of the most visited Orthodox monasteries in the region, and I walked through an ancient Roman settlement. It was an amazing day in a beautiful setting!

The private tour of Ostrog Monastery, Doclea, and Nature Park Zeta by Natour Montenegro Travel Agency was exceptional and a great way to see important sites in central Montenegro. My driver/guide, Nino, picked me up at my hotel in Podgorica on time in his clean and comfortable car and delivered me to my next hotel at the end of the day. Nino is very knowledgeable about Montenegro's history, geography, culture, politics, and food, etc., and was very flexible and accommodating. He always stopped when I wanted to take pictures along the way and provided me with water during the record heat wave. Nino was able to answer all of my many questions, particularly about the Roman ruins at Doclea and the Ostrog Monastery. Nino was considerate when we climbed up the hundreds of rock-carved steps to the Ostrog Monastery, stopping periodically for a rest and ensuring that I drank plenty of water in the heat and at high altitude. A special treat was meeting Nino's parents, who live in the Nature Park Zeta, where I enjoyed home-made pomegranate juice, local red wine, and dates. He stopped for lunch along the Zeta River, where we ate grilled trout that had been freshly caught. Nino also made a couple of additional stops at my request to visit the Orthodox Cathedral of Christ's Resurrection in Podgorica and the dramatic Nijagara Waterfall. I highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in visiting these important sites in central Montenegro.
