Within 24 hours after booking you'll receive a short questionnaire about your personality and interests. Based on your responses, you'll be assigned a like-minded host. Your host will communicate with you directly to suggest an itinerary to help you discover what makes the city unique. You will also agree on a meeting time and place. Wonderful experience exploring Edinburgh! Our guide, Doug, was so knowledgeable and friendly and tailor made our excursion so that our entire group (mother and and daughters) was entertained and engaged!

Our tour started being picked up right off the dock. We had an informative drive into Edinburgh and then off to wander the miracle mile. Richard was enthusiastic and had a wealth of knowledge on Edinburg history. He also regaled us in stories of the more turbulent and dark stories of the cities history at our request. A stroll through the cemetery was a favorite. Backstreets and Alleys cobblestones and stairs we traversed the old city and Richard answered our many questions. After a deli ou lunch in the city we were off to Hopetoun house. It’s actually a palace in my opinion but nevertheless it is an awe inspiring structure built in 1699. We toured the house and spoke to the knowledgeable staff and learned a great deal about the home and the family. We were then returned to the dock and said our good byes. You can’t go wrong with Richard on this tour. Highly recommend this tour.

Unfortunately, we were not able to get off our ship because of inclement weather. Since it was less than 24 hours, we were not provided a refund. I understand that the tour guide must be paid, however there was no consideration given to us as the tourist. These tours are not cheap and we have little recourse when circumstances arise that our out of our control.

Doug is our guide. We have targeted the TripAdvisor top 10 list and Doug completed 10+ iconic spots for us. We covered tourist spots from the new town to the old town, Medical College, Diagon Alley, etc. We even took a bus on Prince Street (the first time ever). We are very happy with our Edinburgh visit.

We booked this tour and it was confirmed the day before. We were even asked what we wanted to see. However the tour guide never showed up. The tour operator apologized and said they confirmed with the guide the previous day and couldn’t get a hold of the guide. We were left to figure out the day on our own.

We had the BEST day with Doug as our tour guide! He was kind, knowledgable, and engaging. Im an Outlander and Reign fan and i got to see the palce where Mary Queen of Scots was born as well as many Outlander sites. Next time i come to Edinborough, we will book another tour with him. You will be happy to have him as your guide.
