WHAT TO EXPECT

1. Potamies
Starting from your hotel we head to “Potamies” an Authentic Cretan village.There we will make our first stop, in a traditional mitato where we will meet a local shepherd with his family. We will see how the cheese is made after first milking the milk from the goats and then we will learn how the flour is made in the traditional herromily. Those who wish can taste from the traditional products of the shepherd, such as cheese, raki and oil.
2. Aposelemis Dam
Wandering among the gardens of the village with the fresh fruits and vegetables of the season and the aromas we will reach the dam of Aposelemis, the largest water supply project in Crete. The village of Sfendili is submerged in the waters of the dam with its impressive old houses fading on the surface of the water.
3. Avdou
We continue, for perhaps the most representative village of Crete, Avdou. Characteristic of the settlement, all the buildings preserved and with signs with all the information about how the village was shaped then.

Then we will start our ascent using dirt roads, we will pass through the gorge Of “Ebassas”. The view of the imposing mountains and the wild beauty of nature will reward you. At the short stop, the guide will collect various local herbs (oregano, thyme, sage) as the Cretans used to do.
5. Windmills Of Lasithi Plateau
These stone structures fitted with white sails turned with the wind and drew water from the ground to irrigate the crops. During its heydays, Lasithi Plateau had over 10,000 windmills
6. Pinakiano
It's time for the cooking classes from local professionals. Participation in the preparation of dishes from pure ingredients and local products. Get ready to feel the aromas of herbs and taste the unique Cretan products as you cook with us!
7. Psychro
Visit to a pottery workshop for the secrets of ceramic art as well as participate in the course for the creation of your own ceramics! Lassithi Plateau, hospitable place and embraced by authentic people.
8. Plati
Time for a tour of the Plateau and contact with its inhabitants. Stop at the local cafeteria. Optional coffee or walk on the allies of the old village.
9. Krasi
Now it is time to enjoy the food baked in a wood oven in one of the best traditional restaurants. Flavors , aromas and good local wine!
10. Krasi
After this delicious lunch, it is the time to see the monumental plane tree of the village. Its square is dominated by the aqueduct of the 18th century and the imposing centuries-old plane trees and the oldest plane tree of Crete that is over 2000 years old!
11. Malia
We end our day with a tour of an olive oil mill and learning how to export olive oil. A small taste test will follow!

From pickup at our hotel we had a full day in a Land Rover taking us around malia and into the mountains stopping off at some great locations to see the beauty of Crete.

An unforgettable experience with a sensational tour guide, Jorgos (Kreta Schorschi). We can only recommend it. The other guides we met were also GREAT! The day could have been longer. Insights into the culture and life of the people on Crete. A huge amount of information about the island. It was a great day with lots of information and a lot of fun.

It was a great tour from the pick-up to the end.

Our driver Andre (Jesus) was very friendly and we immediately felt at ease.

The tour was varied and we were able to get to know Crete in its original form.

The tour was amazing. The tour guide/driver Giannis was fantastic. He really looked after us in his group. Made us feel very comfortable and has a great personality. He is also quite knowledgeable about the island and the various sites and areas we visited and quite willingly shared it with us which was well received. Overall the tour was great.

The tour guide/ driver Giannis is fantastic with very good communication skills. He is always smiling and explaining things, very professional and allow us time to explore the wholesome view and the whole adventure. This trip is something that I fo recommend and will do again. The whole experience is worth it, the sea view, Crete history and the food was the top of the highlight. Thanks Giannis for being a brilliant driver and tour guide

We really enjoyed our time with Giannis and Alex, who was in training. The tour itself was excellent, but the personal anecdotes added that special touch that made it all the better.

The farm we visited was a personal favorite, but I really enjoyed the pottery and the meal.

I took part in the Cretan Life tour on May 17. The tour was beautiful. We did many activities. Our driver Ilias was very friendly. He drove calmly and competently and gave a lot of explanations in good English and German. I would love to be in his group again on the next tour! The ceramic workshop was a big disappointment. This was not a workshop, but a very short demo. I am happy that I experienced the tour and thank you for the professional guidance!

The safari trip is particularly enjoyable, we were picked up from the hotel and we started driving towards the mountains with the guide Michael! A charming guide with wide knowledge and a very funny humor! Great DJ skills 😂, and especially the father of the passengers! We drove to the Cave of Zeus and passed by various stations on the way, from a goat dairy to a mill for making olives. I recommend everyone to enjoy a day of fun and enriching knowledge about the culture in Crete! Thanks to Michael for a fun trip from the group of Israelis and Belgians 🤣🤣
