Horrible experience, the vehicles are in very poor condition. They have no brakes, seat belts get stuck, and safety equipment such as helmets and gloves are dirty and smelly.
The vehicles circulate without license plates on public roads, a national guard police officer stopped us and the guide gave them a bribe to let us go.
You travel through protected natural areas such as dunes and beaches without respecting the bathers who occupy them.
They charge you a deposit of 3000 Mexican pesos and if something happens during the activity, the vehicles DO NOT have any insurance so you have to pay for the damages in full.
If you want a quality off road experience do it with “Cactus Tours”

Did the UTV tour. It would have been 5 star review, the tour was beautiful, the guide was great (dug us out of the hole we got stuck in), and lunch was tasty.
However there was an issue with the UTV’s 4x4 keeping it only in rear wheel drive. This on its own is not a big deal. It does effect steering and trackion making it easy to get stuck in soft sand. As an experienced driver I was able to manage this. My wife, was her first time off-roading and unfortunately got stuck right away and didn’t feel comfortable driving again. When we got back I asked for a discount as we did not get the true 4x4 experience as promoted. Was told there was nothing he could do. Didn’t even get an apology. Only offer a discount on another tour. I would love to do another tour, but we don’t have time before we leave and won’t likely be back in La Paz in the future.
The lack of caring about the issue is unfortunate since we really did have a good time but it did affect our overall experience.
We need to pay 100% of our money over $11,000.00 peso. But didn’t get 100% 4x4 experience. Doesn’t seem fair to me. A minor discount would have resolved the issue as a gesture of respect and accountability for the machines.

We had an AMAZING day with David (guide) and Gerardo (guide in training). This is one of the best activities that we’ve done not only in Baja but across all of our trips abroad. We’d highly recommend this company and tour to anyone looking to explore the surrounding area of La Laz and really lean into the Baja off-road experience!
To provide a little more detail, we are a couple that picked the large UTV to do our tour on the dunes. The company communicated about our hotel pickup in advance and was right on time. Check in was easy and transparent - this is a rental contract and if you drive dangerously and damage the vehicle you will be responsible. They were very clear about how to be safe and have fun, and we felt it was completely fair and transparent. Our guide and guide in training was amazing, and we had such a blast. When we got out of the rental pickup we made our way to the dunes, and spent time there, on the beach, in the mountains between canyons, and back again. We swapped drivers halfway through and it felt like the perfect amount of driving for both of us. We also blasted our own music the entire time, which made it all the more fun. Lastly, we did some sand boarding as well, and has a really nice burrito lunch.
Overall this was a 10/10 and worth every penny.

DO NOT RIDE WITH THIS COMPANY! They will rip you off! They will take a 3k pesos “DEPOSIT” but if something happens, they will KEEP your deposit, AND CHARGE YOU FOR THE DAMAGES…. I understand keeping the deposit for the damages….. BUT CHARGING FOR THE DAMAGES AND KEEPING THE DEPOSIT?!?! That’s robbery!!! Not to mention that the tour guide was INSTIGATING us to do doughnuts!
ALSO! Their food was disgusting!!! They called them “burritos” but it was basically just a tortilla wrapped around a bunch of fried skin and FAT! See the below pictures!!!

What an awesome day with 4xFour Tours yesterday! Everyone there is super friendly, and they can’t do enough to ensure you have the best day possible. The booking and check-in process was very easy with the help of Alejandra in the office. Our tour guide Enrique was amazing the whole day. He was very helpful and clear with driving instructions and hand signals and stopped throughout the trip making sure we were good and to see if we needed anything. (They had stocked enough food and drinks to feed a small army - I felt bad that we didn’t eat half of it. The burritos for lunch were amazing!) Enrique continually took pictures and a GoPro video throughout the day that he made sure to share with us at the end of the trip. He has even gone so far as to order us a protective case for our own GoPro for an upcoming dive – service that is definitely above and beyond! Andrea was leading another group through the dunes, and she couldn’t have been nicer. She, too, made sure we had everything we needed and were having a great time. And I have to say their equipment is great! The Can-Am side by side we had was only two weeks old. I would definitely recommend a tour with these guys. Though it is expensive, it’s worth every penny. It was definitely a day to remember!

We had a wonderful day out with Enrique taking us sand boarding and driving the ATV’s around the sand dunes! Great knowledge of the area, even taking us to a whales skeletons jaw on the beach! It was a great day out with drinks and snacks included! He was an amazing guide and a all round great guy! 100% recommended!

We are a family of 4 with 2 children ages 5 & 9. Our 5 year old has special needs and we were concerned she would be overwhelmed and over stimulated by the noise. We weren’t planning on doing the tour as a group of 4 and the Olán was for my husband to do it with our 9 year old son. When we arrived, the whole staff made us feel so welcomed. They gave extra special care attention to my lo with Down syndrome and she immediately felt relaxed and safe.
We ended up doing the tour as a family of 4 with Enrique. The whole experience was beyond amazing. Enrique kept asking my daughter if she was okay and she loved it. She felt safe!
Enrique made our whole experience a memorable one and we are so happy we chose 4x4 tours to visit El Mogote Dunes. We even got some sand boarding done. My 9 year old was afraid of heights and again Enrique with his patience and kindness made my son comfortable and he ended up doing it.
Thank you Enrique and the rest if the team of 4x4 Tours. We will be back!
