The female guide was absolutely brilliant. She made the day special.
The weather was lovely and warm and the tour was very varied. Would recommend to anyone thinking of trying it.

Some scenery from bus was pretty. Did not get to stop at lighthouse, which they told us last minute we couldn’t go in but we were told we could walk around at least. Did not happen. Instead they drove us to a parking lot by a closed restaurant, told us we could get out and visit the “town.” There was no town and no time anyway. There were two stops that required considerable hill climbs, which several of us opted to pass on those. We saw two churches but couldn’t go in. Narration by guide was not particularly engaging. Honestly, most Viator tours are great. This one was not. I’m not sure it was well researched and planned by hosts.

The stops were very underwhelming, we were on the bus for far too long relative to the stops. More specifically, we stopped at a restaurant lookout, but the restaurant was closed and fenced off, so the viewpoints were very limited. We stopped at a church, which closed so we could see the one original wall. We drove through the parking lot of the aquarium, but didn’t go in. I understand we didn’t have time due to the ship’s schedule, but why drive by something we weren’t going to go to? Our last stop was a gravel pull-out that overlooked a barge where the city has a large bonfire. So we basically stopped to look at a burned barge.
Our guide was a nice woman, enthusiastic, but the bus driver was surly.
The tour should be re-worked to include an hour or more downtown, which looked lovely. But we simply drove through it.

This review may be surprising given all the stellar reviews through May 2024 - but something must have changed. We wished we wouldn't have taken this excursion - especially since we chose this rather than the Holland America shore excursion.
Things that we didn't like:
Too much driving - 3 hrs out of 4-1/2.
And that in a bus without air conditioning and little airflow (actually none when driving through lengthy tunnels) - just excuses from the driver that it never gets this hot (72 degrees outside).
Too few stops, and for too short a time. Only a couple memorable stops. The Sunnmøre Museum and Aksla viewpoint were outstanding, but too little time at the Museum. Didn't get to see the church or the boats. The Giske Church would have been interesting, if open (the sign made it clear that the church office could be contacted for that purpose). Obviously not done.
A boring stop at the site of a world record tallest bonfire?
Driving around the beautiful lighthouse without even stopping for one minute?

Our guide and driver did their best. It was a very informative and varied tour. We could climb in the lighthouse too. The Sunnmore Museum is in a beautiful area.

Light house was closed. Church was not worth the time to visit except going to the bathroom. Guide did not provide much information, either.

We didn’t get in to the light house or anywhere within 100m, very disappointing, the Giske church is closed and not very distinct from outside so also not sure why we went there.
Some commentary but it was very basic.
The lookout is a free stop too. The Sunnmore museum was nice.
We would not recommend this tour.

Our your operator was bad. She would walk off and leave the slower customers. No explanations. Waste of my money. I think the destination was much more interesting than her tour.
