Great introduction to Bergen. Our guide was Nina who spoke perfect English . She was great fun and showed us areas of Bergen we would never have found ourselves. Even though we started in the rain it did not matter as she was very interesting and we had an interesting small group. Do not expect this to be a food tour as it is very much both cultural and foody

We do food tours in every major city we visit, and they are usually well led and include a variety of food. I felt this tour was quite basic and our guide was awkward. He was really nice and tried hard though. At the end when we joined the other group, it was evident that they learned a more on the tour than we did. Maybe it was an off day but I was also not impressed with the variety of food selections. Usually we leave a tour full and this was not the case.

Out tour guide, Nina, was great. She spoke wonderful English and was full of stories and had (most) of the answers to our questions. I leaned a lot about Scandinavian history and the history of Bergen. We walked all over and through some little neighborhoods and really got a feel for the place as locals. The reason why I gave an average rating is because this was supposed to be a food and and walking tour and the food was just- missing. We did eat. Started with a fish cake. It was kind of greasy and slimy and oddly good at the same time. Then we had a *bite* of a cinnamon roll and brown cheese My husbands fell on the ground and there was no extra, sorry about your luck. Next we had the tiniest flake of dried fish. Now, granted, it tasted like salty sawdust, I still wold have liked a bit more to try what Bergen is all about. Off to an old establishment for soup that was ok. Then for some apple cider at a bakery
( I bought buy own baked goods to eat) then a beer and some stories at a bar.
Overall, it was just average. I have been on 20+ food tours so I have something to compare it to and I have never left one hungry before. The price that you pay you expect to sit and eat more food, not walk and nibble.

Absolutely not worth the money. I’ve taken several food and walking tours and this the only one I’ve not enjoyed. Too slow, not enough interesting observations, the guide’s English was quite poor and we didn’t visit the fish market which was art of the advertised route.

The pacing was terribly slow. The culture was really just history not a cultural tour which would be ok but the guide struggled with his English. We did not go to the fish market, we will have to return to see that. The food was ok but not discussed or explained. Perhaps we had a substitute guide? I’ve never had a bad food tour before. This was sad and for $300 for 3 people, not ok.

Our first stop was at the fish market where we had tasty fish cakes followed by a cinnamon bun and brown cheese. We strolled more of the area learning more history. We walked through a historic alley where we had dried cod. We went up a hill to a restaurant where we had very good lamb soup. We walked further up the hill to an area where we had great views of Bergen. Our next stop was a coffee shop where we had "apple pie in a glass" which was basically hot apple cider with whipped cream on top. It was delicious. We then walked down the hill to near the starting point. There was one more stop but we had to leave early due to booking another tour. Celine, our guide, was great and the food was good. We throughly enjoyed this tour.
