The Tour starts from the Capitol square restructured by Michelangelo in16C. Overlooking Rome, in its centre is the second century BC bronze Statue to Marcus Aurelius. Its original can be seen in the Capitoline Museums as your guide will explain.

Descending towards the Roman Forum you will pass the Lapidarium, Roman tax office and later a prison. Crossing Via dei Fori Imperiali you will visit the Trajan Markets and Column. This is one of the most impressive sights of a Forum, the last Forum built around 110AD by Emperor Trajan, finished by Emperor Hadrian to glorify Trajan - the greatest leader of the Roman Army. Carved around the Great Column are the victories of Trajan.

Enter then the Roman Forum, its arches, streets and buildings proceeding to the Palatine. You will visit the House of Livia or the one of her husband Emperor Augustus. Booked especially the house will be illustrated for half an hour by Forum's Guides.

All will be organised and illustrated by your expert Guide.

This was truly unforgettable. It was the third and final tour of the ancient part of Rome. I had been concerned about duplication of information but each of the tours was slightly different and there wasn't very much overlap. This was the most in-depth tour. It covered bothe side of the ancient Forum, including Trajan's Column. It also covered more of the Forum than my other two tours had. And the included both tours of the imperial palace. Those tours are underground and feature reconstructions of the walls w/ light. It sounds odd but it works well. My guide then took me around the rest of the palace grounds and pointed out various features. She recommended two museums if I wanted further information. I visited the museum at the Palatine Hill. It is small but very good. I am so glad I took this tour. It was the completion of the visit to Ancient Rome. The guide is simply one of the best I encountered and I had some great guides.

An excellent tour guide, highly knowledgeable in history and archeology. The tour it was difficult because we wanted to see such many things- House of Livia, House of Augustus, Imperial Fori, Roman Forum. Houses were impressive because they try to recreate the ancient atmosphere. For us, the tour means rediscover the roots, the ancestors. But anyway this tour definitely worth.

Gianluca was FANTASTIC, such an ambassador for Rome. His knowledge and enthusiasm for for the art of ancient Rome was with out a doubt the highlight of this trip to Europe. We would gladly engage him for anything Rome.

Not worth the money. We probably should have told the guide exactly what we wanted in advance.
