It was an exceptional tour for the whole family!
Angela gave us an introduction to the Akumal ecosystem. The fish, turtles and plants we would be seeing. As well as the safety issues regarding the almost zero probability of sharks near the beach, he provided us with equipment (snorkel and vest) and lunch.
We were fortunate to observe: 6 turtles, 1 stingray, angelfish, tiger fish and many dory fish.
Angela accompanied us all the way explaining the flora and fauna we were observing and was super patient with my 6 year old son.
Thanks Angela, we hope to return soon!

Our family of three, including our 8 year old son, really enjoyed our afternoon at Akumal. I would highly recommend the marine biology experience with Angela. Due to weather, we had to reschedule our planned day and she was excellent with communicating and finding another date when we could go. She is punctual, knowledgeable and friendly. Angela genuinely cares for the ocean and did such an awesome job of sharing her passion and expertise with our family about the sea turtles and conservation. We saw many sea turtles, rays and fish. This was a perfect experience for us, as we had support to help our son with his first snorkelling experience. Since he got tired about half way through, he enjoyed some fresh juice and snacks provided by Angela. She played with our son on the beach while we continued snorkelling with the great local guide that works with Angela. If you care about the environment, want to support marine life and education and like snorkelling, book this instead of your typical tour.

Angela Warrior has been "Ocean Angel" since we met her through her weekly "We Love the Sea" Marine Biology adult snorkeling events (check these out too!). She is so passionate about all things marine and this rubs off on everyone she meets. We utilized Angela to arrange for our Akumal Turtle experience, and she joined us along with her local partner Kari to assist us in ensuring our turtle swim was the best possible. As usual, Angela educated us on the turtles prior to getting in the water. Once in the water Angela and Kari made sure we did get maximum turtle exposure while still providing us with minimal crowd exposure (it can get busy with other swimmers!). We loved all aspects of this tour, and would recommend Angela and Kari for anyone looking for a Snorkel experience.

Angela was a fantastic host for me and my two kiddos. It was their first snorkeling experience, and they had a challenge ahead of them as the winds were pretty strong the day of our adventure. However, Angela assured me they could hold on to a ring for support, and that she'd take them in at any point if they were too tired to continue. Luckily, they were troopers and finished the whole swim.

Angela started with a little talk on the beach about sea turtles, and the species of animals we were likely to see. Despite the wind conditions making visibility less than ideal, we saw 6 turtles, 2 stingrays, an eagle ray and lots of fish! It was an unforgettable experience and I highly recommend Angela as a guide. She is very informative, kind, and a true steward for our oceans. Happy to support her non-profit. Thank you, Angela!

Our snorkeling tour began under the shade of a coconut tree on the beach with Angela providing an interesting talk on the various species we might encounter. Angela is a marine biologist with years of research experience; is very knowledgeable and we thoroughly enjoyed the talk. She is friendly and lively which made our tour lots of fun. She had an assistant snorkeling guide who swam with us, who was usually the first to spot the turtles and stingrays and other species we saw. Her assistant also carried a tow line with a floating ring in case anyone got tired in which case they could be pulled. She used hand gestures under water to signal the various species. This was much more than your typical snorkeling outing and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

We had an amazing time on this tour with Angela and Kary!

It was important to us to choose a tour that would allow us to see and appreciate the beautiful turtles of Akumal while also respecting their natural habitat.

Angela was such a wealth of information, we loved learning about marine life with her, and her passion for education and conservation is contagious.

Kary is an incredible guide, and helped us see rays, squid, lots of beautiful fish, and so many turtles! It was absolutely incredible.

This tour is a bit pricier than others, but it is absolutely worth it. We saw so many bigger groups when we were out there and they seemed chaotic and hectic - it was fantastic to be able to learn about what we were seeing and go at our own pace, taking as much time as we wanted to appreciate the beautiful creatures.

I would wholeheartedly recommend this tour, 1000%. My 11-year-old daughter said it was the highlight of her trip and we will definitely come back if we are in the area again.

Thank you so much, Angela and Kary!🐢❤️🐢❤️

My family (2 adults and our 9 year old daughter) just returned from a lovely vacation to Playa del Carmen. While planning our trip, I knew we had limited time so I was looking for a tour that would allow us to see several of our “must-do’s” in one day. We wanted to see ruins, a cenote, and snorkel with sea turtles in Akumal. As an animal-loving family, we always struggle quite a bit with animal tourism. We want to observe animals in their natural habitat without causing harm to them. Finding Angie was such a blessing because she is passionate about respecting the turtles’ space, going in small groups, and not getting too close to them. She is also so knowledgeable about marine life, and she is super friendly and personable. From my first message to her and all the way to the day of the tour, Angie provided excellent communication and she was quick to respond to my questions.

She made all the arrangements for our perfect day in Mexico. She picked us up at our hotel and took us to the Tulum ruins (along with a wonderful Mayan guide). Then she took us to Cenote Sac Atun (cave), which was truly an amazing experience! After a yummy lunch at a local restaurant , we were given a private snorkel tour of Sac Atun by a local guide. Snorkeling in crystal clear water, among all these amazing formations, was unlike anything we’ve ever done! Then, last but definitely not least, Angie took us to Akumal. She gave us a little lesson on the beach about some of the sea creatures we might see. Then into the water we went! Angie and her guide partner, Kary, were a great team— we felt very safe the whole time, even with our daughter being a new snorkeler. They even pulled along a life preserver for our daughter to hold onto if she needed a little rest! With their help, we observed green turtles, a starfish, stingrays, and lots of pretty fish! After our fabulous day, Angie drove us back to our hotel in Playa Del Carmen.

I’m so grateful we found Angie! During our day, we saw tons of giant tour groups being herded from place to place, struggling to hear their guide and see over each other. In contrast, our day with Angie felt relaxed and we learned so much. We loved being able to ask questions and have real conversations about the work Angie and her colleagues are doing to protect marine life. I would recommend Angie to anyone visiting this area of Mexico, especially those interested in learning how we can help protect the sea creatures we are there to see.

Angela is amazing! She is super passionate about marine life and it shows in everything she does. She communicated super fast and made sure every detail was arranged and was thorough in everything she did. It was really important to us to support someone who cares for the environment and the marine life as we wanted to respect that we were visiting their home. There were lots of other groups that seemed to be more focused on getting as many people in and out quickly which was sad to see.

Her guide Kary was wonderful as well. She was very calm and skilled at directing us to a variety of turtles and fish and rays while we were out so we were able to see so many cool things. She also has a clear respect and passion for the ocean and sea life and we felt really comfortable with her guiding us.

My kids were a bit apprehensive when we actually got into the water but Angela and Kary both were so great with them. Angela had prepped us before in case things didn’t go as planned with them and she clearly has lots of experience with kids and families and that made everything so much easier! My kids absolutely loved her and she was so engaging that we all had such a wonderful experience. It was really comforting to know that we were with a group that genuinely wanted to make sure we had a great time and left more knowledgeable rather than just being another number in a group.

All that to say that I would 100% recommend Angela and her group to anyone who wants a personalized and memorable experience!!

She is the absolute best and sweetest person ever and great experience for anyone and especially for families!

Angela, and our snorkeling tour was the highlight of our trip to playa del Carmen this winter. We went with my husband and two kids ages 6 and 7. She was extremely patient with the girls and her biodiversity lesson on the beach before the actual snorkeling tour was a special treat to learn about all the sea life and the ecosystem and how our daily actions affect this biodiversity environment

Since it was the girls first snorkeling tour they got tired and midway Angela offered to take them back to the beach while my husband and I continued with her guide who was helpful and pointed us to see all kinds of things including big turtles, squid, stingrays, other tropical fish, etc. This was definitely a highlight of our trip and I highly recommend Angela when visiting the turtle sanctuary!
