The description of this activity is incredibly underwhelming relative to the reality of the tour.

We were picked up in and AC’d VW at our doorstep before being driven to the Mayan reserve whilst our guide, David, narrated his knowledge of Mayan history - he is a true passionate and makes you feel it in his stories.

The reserve is quite inaccessible and thus not in the least crowded. Our tour was private with no other tourists around. We were met by the Mayan locals who took us through the jungle.

We saw spider monkeys in abundance, included babies hanging from high trees from their tail - it was magical.

We were then taken to the lagoon by way of a 250m zip line overlooking the crystal clear water and a breathtaking view of the wilderness that surrounded us.

The adventure continued as we hopped on a canoe and slowly paddled across the lagoon, taking in the unique view of jungle from this serene body of water whilst wondering what may be hiding in its depth.

The final stretch of the day takes place in a hidden cenote that’s 18m deep. Our guide lowered us with the help of a rappel into the depths of a cave that was once used as a cemetery by his Mayan ancestors. The thrill was unreal!

Overall, one of the best experiences we’ve had in Mexico - thank you ever so much to David who not once rushed us and took care of us as if we were full VIP

David was great and helped us better understand the culture of the Mayans and the complexities of the region. The tour was very special and made us feel honored to be welcomed into their community. Highly recommend any tour with this company!
