I actually missed this tour. The instructions were not really clear as to where exactly the departure point was. Piazzale Roma is very crowded and I spent hours looking for someone holding some sign...

A fantastic day out and the highlight of our visit to Venice.
The meeting point was straight forward and we were the only people on this tour. First we stopped at a small winery in Friuli - I think it was the first time this tour had used Marinig and it was a superb experience. It was a small family run operation with the wife speaking good English and providing a detailed and highly information tour of the winery. Then followed a tasting and explanation of the wines which taught me so much about the wines of the region. The wines were of an excellent quality. Unfortunately it is too difficult to bring wine back to Australia - but we had a stay with family in Italy a week or so later, so Marinig organised to courier the very reasonably priced wines and they arrived as promised and we continued to enjoy them for our family stay. The wines were superb.
Then we went to lunch at a tiny trattoria in a small hill town. The food just kept coming (I still remember the home cooked gnocchi with smoked ricotta). It was all simple, delicious and more than we could eat.
There was a bit of driving involved, but the quality of the food and wine made it all well worthwhile.

Very enjoyable day from start to finish! Great to see the beautiful Italian countryside. Stop in Civadale was a highlight. Food and wine amazing. Certainly a MUST take trip and well worth the time and money.

This was an awesome tour. At the winery Alan was very informative and fun! At lunch the food was divine. I would highly recommend this tour. My only regret is not buying more wine to bring home.

This was by far the worst tour of our trip. Our party of 4 people was joined by one other lady, who had booked a Medievil Towns tour, so she was not even on the tour. The guide did not tell us anything about the town we visited, just dropped us off, said "there is a church over there, and I will meet you back here in 25 minutes". The Winery was not informed that we were coming and they did not have anyone who spoke English to give us a tour, and the restaurant was a very basic meal. It was definitely not worth 200AUD per person and I would suggest booking a tour in Tuscany where they seem to make more of an effort.

This was by far and away worth every cent! You get to stop in a village along the way and see an old church. Then do a wine tasting followed by a 7 or 8 course meal with more wine. The other couples on this tour were great and we had so much fun on this trip. Actually it was one of the highlights of us spending a week in Venice. Don't pass this one up!
