Until the 19TH century, the Nile was Egypt’s artery, transporting goods, effigies of gods, mummies, and people. But cruising the Nile for leisurely purposes was perhaps most famously endeavored in 47 BC, when Julius Caesar and Cleopatra VII, Egypt’s final and most illustrious queen, are said to have gone on a sightseeing tour up the Nile. Equally enamored with Cleopatra and the sumptuous riches of her kingdom, Caesar ensured that Egypt would remain sovereign for the rest of his tenure at the helm of the Roman Republic.

The Nile cruise was a good experience. Our tour guide, Hussein was very knowledgeable about the ancient history. He answered all questions with enthusiasm and he made our trip a good experience.
The Boat personnel were very friendly

My wife and I enjoyed On the Go’s trip to Cairo, train to Luxor, 4 day Nile cruise to Aswan and back to Cairo by train in November 2022. It was a memorable experience enhanced by our outstanding guide Saleeb. An archeologist himself his explanations were excellent and he got us around the sites avoiding the large crowds. He also had a great sense of humour. A word of commendation also for Ahmed whose logistical arrangements in Cairo were most efficient. The only downside was the choice of hotel in Cairo, isolated at the edge of the city. We would certainly consider traveling with On the Go again.
