We had a great and funny tour through the Comuna 13 with Johan. We learned a lot about the history and meaning of the art there. We had a blast and would really recommend the tour with Johan. He even talked a bit of German with us. 😊

Wow wow wow!
Johan is one of a kind! He was hilarious and super informative! He explained to us the history of every mural and house that we came across and taught us the importance in the roots of everyone that was there! The places that he recommended to eat were absolutely delicious and not to mention his camera skills! He answered all of our questions and really broke it down for us to really enjoy and absorb the knowledge.
Highly recommend him for anyone that is looking for a guide!

Johan is a very nice guy, he has a lot of knowledge about Colombia, including Medellín. There was a very nice and friendly atmosphere during the trip. Johan knows English very well. He also organized transport, it was convenient. I recommend!!

I am from the United States and moved to Medellin in March 2021. A friend of mine introduced me to Johan for a tour of Comuna 13. Johan speaks several languages including English.
Tours with Johan are extremely rewarding! I have used him over the pass 3 years for my self and then when friends and family visit Medellin Colombia from the United States.
It was 11 of us in the group this time in December 2023. Everyone in the group had a fantastic tour experience with Johan as our guide. He is very knowledgeable when it comes to the history of Medellin! He gave us lots of historical and cultural information and was more than happy to answer questions.
Johan is not your average Colombian tour guide. He actually lived in Comuna 13 before, during and after the infamous war that took place in Comuna 13 area. Johan is very detailed in his description of the history of Comuna 13. Johan’s vivid descriptions of his experience allowed me to visualize and feel his experience as if I was experiencing it all myself!
As a treat Johan had us to try some amazing Colombian style flavored ice cream as part of the tour! From there we were taken to a restaurant for dinner where it was obvious that Johan is well respected there! The food and service was great with a elevated mountain view over looking the Comuna 13 area.
When we finish the tour, someone in the group mentioned the cable cars. Johan volunteered to continued the tour with a breathtaking ride over two mountains in the cable cars! We learned even more history of Medellin while in the cable car with Johan!
Medellin is a beautiful and remarkable city, but Johan brings it to life with his superior knowledge and experience as a tour guide! Thank you Johan!!!

We wanted to do Comuna 13 without a guide, but with Johan it was perfect: he's from the area, has details and facts about the history, speaks English and German, and had everything: graffiti, mural paintings, top-notch mango ice cream, beautiful miradors, escalators and cool shops. The best part was the spontaneous rap show and the veeeery strong breakdancers with their street show. Johan is proud of what Comuna 13 has become and loves showing it to visitors.
The best guide I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing in my 58 years.

I saw Johan on a u-tube video giving a tour and was impressed by his passion for his hometown and his language skills! I was able to connect with him and reserve before we arrived. He was quick to answer, schedule and give us ideas and referrals for other adventures. Johan led us (3 females) through his hometown is a way that was relaxing, fun and super informative. He was super flexible in allowing us to grab food, beers explore and shop while he educated us along the way. Highly recommend Johan!!

I Was recommended Johan through a friend and he didn’t disappoint. Best tour guide I’ve had! Perfect english , very knowledgeable and very funny dude. We did three separates tours with him. I recommend him to anyone visiting Medellin.

What can I say! Johan played a big part in our trip, a vibrant, friendly & knowledgable tour guide, he himself is from Communa13 so if you’re looking to visit, he’s your guy! That was one of the best days of my life, was an overwhelming experience. We Also hit gutape & did the Pablo Escobar & the walking tour, all organised by our new amigo Johan.

Johan is a very serious person when it comes to tours and it’s not the type of person that shows you something then tells you part of the history and then rapidly moves on to the next destination. He takes time for you to properly explore and enjoy the whole experience as well as adding a little quiz questions along the way. I highly recommend booking a tour with him
