Martin taught our family the basics of surfing with enthusiasm and joy - we met in a small, quiet bay near El Cotillo and were able to surf in the larger bay after an hour - while other surf instructors spent the whole day in the shallow water of the small bay, Martin got us to a good level in a short time. As there was a lot of wind on the day we booked, we called via WhatsApp and easily postponed the course to two days later - a good afternoon for us - and a few days later we also received photos from Martin of our surfing attempts.

It was a super fun day and experience. Learned a lot for a beginner. Instructor Martin was a very pleasant person. Personal and interested. Patient and made a lot of effort to speak and explain Dutch as best as possible. This went very well for him! This made it an extra motivator, especially for my daughter (14). The chosen spot for first time surfing was perfect! It was beautiful and not crowded. A small lagoon with not too much current or waves.

We did 2 classes with Martin and it was all perfect. The communication before booking was quick and clear. We went to a flat watered bay near El Cotillo where Martin helped us to get the material ready and without wasting time he brought us to the water. Even the conditions were challenging on the first day, thanks to Martin, we were able to go up and down almost immediately. The material was in top conditions, all the tips we got from Martin were right on spot. He gave us lots of water time too.
Overall great experience with Gecko Windsurf School
Definitely to repeat the next time!

Had a great time! Went solo and Martin made me feel really comfortable and included. I was the most inexperienced one in the group and I didn’t feel like I was left out or anything.

It was a good experience for me to start to learn windsurfing with Gecko Windsurf School. Martin is a helpful and skilled teacher. The lagoon where he took us, was a perfect place to learn the basics of windsurding. I enjoyed every minute on the board 🙂

Martin is a great windsurfing teacher! Within 3 days I improved my turns and jibs, started riding the harness and got to learn some cool and also useful tricks with the sail to improve control.
During this time I saw several beginners who went from zero to good turns and decent board control within a day.
I can recommend this guy for all beginner and intermediate windsurfers!

The coach is very nice, patient, and experienced. If you do not have experience before, don't worry about it. You are able to learn some skills from the coach quickly. This is very recommended to play the windsurf. Enjoy!!!
