This small group half-day tour from the port of Katakolon will take you to ancient Olympia, the playground of the Gods and heroes of Greek mythology and where the Olympic flame is lit for each Olympiad.
This blessed land is home to one of the finest agricultural produce in the country, the olive oil. Discover the products of the olive tree, the symbol of immortality and wisdom on a free olive oil and wine tasting experience at a local market.

Then, go off-the-beaten-path into a farm filled with fruit trees and vegetables and find Greek hospitality. Learn all about the circle of life of the bees by a local bee keeper and taste local delicacies accompanied with local artisan's honey.

Finally, spend some time at the village of Katakolon for shopping and lunch by the sea front.

This was a small group tour which is very nice. Olympia was very nice, but very hot. There are plenty of trees for shade. I would definitely recommend getting a guide.
The honey farm was nice. It’s nice to see a family run small business. The honey is delicious. The olive oil tasting is very nice too. There were at least 12 different olive oils to taste, several balsamic vinegarettes, and olives, along with a few locator sweets.

This was a great day! The honey bee farm was our favorite part. We both came home with the idea to be beekeepers!

We also had an amazing guide for Olympus. Probably the best guide for our whole vacation. She was an amazing story teller and really helped us connect to life 800 years BC!

While this was a good tour, I rate it four stars only for the following reason -

I think one should not name an excursion this way if the cost to visit the named sites is not included in the price. I did book it anyway because it had good reviews, and it was not disappointing.

It was hard for my elderly but mobile parents (78 and 85) to keep up, due to heat and terrain, this is for information to anyone considering booking the tour. Even the restful visit to the honey farm was tough because of the heat and stillness as we listened to the host.

We were on a cruise ship and not happy with any of the excursions offered by the cruise line at this port of call, so we booked this experience and were extremely happy. It was indeed a small group (maybe 10 or 12 of us). Loved the honey farm, our guide in Olympia was wonderful, even a little time for shopping. Would highly recommend!

Yanna, our tour guide had interesting things to say about the Olympia area and she started the tour at Klio’s Honey Farm. We loved it. Generations have owned this farm and the owner had snacks and drinks while you heard her stories. Also had a chance to buy some of her delicious products. We also had Marietta who gave the tour of ancient Olympia. Very knowledgeable and very interesting as we viewed the ruins

This experience was one of our favorite parts of our trip to Europe. The honey farm was fascinating, and the family who owns it was extremely friendly. The olive oil tasting was also great, and ended up being a great day. Don't hesitate!

We learned the history and culture of ancient Olympia. We had the privilege of being with a guide who explained in great detail the history.
We then got the chance to visit a family owned honey farm that was truly a highlight.
We weren't sure what to expect but this tour far exceeded our expectations
