This tour was cancelled on the day we got there with no notice to us due to a large international bike race on the streets of the city. This race was planned over a year in advance and Trip Advisor should have known that there were no excursions that day. After we waited for the bus and were then told it was cancelled, it was too late for us to book any other excursions so that port was a complete flop to us. I will book directly with the excursion company next time instead of booking with trip advisor on a tour that doesn't exist.

Why would anyone think driving around houses on city centre roads would be interesting especially as the narration was out of sync and didn’t actually indicate where the points of interest were.

It was a very expensive tour at £32 each for what essentially we could have done on any public bus.

We would have complained at the time when we came back from the tour but your colleagues were no longer there. Gone very quickly to avoid disappointed customers I am sure.

Someone else on the same tour who wrote an email immediately got vouchers in way of an apology straight away so they must be aware of how appalling the tour is.

I have written to the company and have had absolutely no response whatsoever. Awful awful customer relations and a really pooie shoddy tour.

We love the HoHo buses and regularly use them in most places we visit as a good way of getting to see as much as possible. We only used this one as we specifically wanted to get to the Swords in Rock monument (much of what there is to see can be done on foot but this is about three miles out of the centre) and the chap at the cruise port selling the tours was so convincing that this was the better tour, over the competing City Sightseeing HoHo bus, that we were sold! What a mistake. What they don't tell you is that the stop for the Swords is a good 15 minute walk away. But that's not the major concern - it was a nice day and it's a scenic route! What was infuriating was that we were left stranded there for over an hour waiting for the bus to come back round when we were finished at the monuments when they claim to run every 30 minutes. It was a swelteringly hot day too and we only had a few hours in that port from our cruise ship. It's clearly a lie and only one bus must operate. The staff on the bus were also very rude. When I got back to the port I questioned the manager who had convinced me to use their service and he assured me I could contact the company to get a refund as he wasn't able to issue it there and then. He also said we weren't the only people to have complained that day!! I emailed the company as soon as I got home and despite receiving an automatic reply to acknowledge receipt of my email, I'm yet to get a response and that was nine days ago. So not only is it a rubbish service on the day, but the company overall doesn't care either. Don't waste your money supporting this company - it is not worth the cost and you won't get a reliable good service.

This was not worth the money and a total rip off,,,we were on a cruise and decided to do bus and we saw ship at every turn,,,never left it’s vicinity,,would have been better just walking round harbour and visiting church ,,,DO NOT do this hop on-hop off,,total waste of money

Stavanger HOHO bus. Two companies compete with similar service.
We tried the local company. I can't say it was better or worse than the
international company, but it wasn't very good Often commentary
and sights were not synched. Commentary was well before the
physical item came into view, or long after we had passed it. We
passed numerous statues and landmarks with no commentary.. At $30 per person, it should be better

Absolute waste of money & time . The city sightseeing areas are all in one big area of 5-6 km radius which can be covered by leisurely walking through than waiting for the bus to come for more than forty five minutes each stop . They do not have enough buses to manage the tourist business . I suspect that it is only one bus doing the rounds

When we reached the bus, there were two friendly ladies trying to sell us tickets we already had!

They were very informative and gave us the map of the route the bus would be taking.

The driver was nice too providing us with a set of headphones so we could hear the commentary in 8 languages including English.

Can't fault the service or demeanour of all involved.

One good thing was also that you were friendly with the other Company "City Sightseeing Norway" which was nice to see.

It actually (as an entirely disspationate person), enhances in my eye your reputation. I want to see something different and this is what I saw.
