Crete: Jeep Safari, Mountains, Goat-Keeping & Cheese Making

What a trip! Do not miss this opportunity! The views from the mountains on the valley are breathtaking. The adrenaline from driving along the clifs in jeeps feels incredible, for both the driver and passengers, especially if you stand on the back seat with the roof folded down. And yes, if you have a driver’s license, get behind the wheel yourself. The locals are very friendly! The tavern owner handed out flowers and showed us local plants. Food was delicious. The whole experience with the locals was very interesting - we milked the goats, fed them dried corn, the farmer's wife even helped us catch a goat with a special stick. Homemade cheese was incredibly tasty, same with wine and honey that we purchased from them. Mae sure you dip in the sea before heading home. Thanks to Artem for a fascinating trip and facts about an area we had never even heard of.

Адреналин от поездки по склонам на джипах невероятный, как для водителя, так и для пассажиров, особенно если стоишь на заднем сиденьи, откинув крышу. И да, если есть водительские права - сами садитесь за руль. Местные очень приветливые! Хозяин таверны раздавал цветы и показывал местные растения. Кормили вкусно. Опыт с горцами был очень интересным, мы доили коз, кормили их кукурузой, хозяйка нам даже помогла одну поймать специальной палкой. Сыр был безумно вкусный, как и вино с медом, что мы у них приобрели. Обязательно искупайтесь в море перед дорогой домой. Спасибуо Артему за увлекательную поездку и факты о местности, о которой мы даже не слышали.

i think they should aware people in advance the the whole trip is being done on very very old cars that seem to break down every second of this long route ! one of the cars in our trip literally broke down when we only started the trip so we had to wait for another one
also, maybe they should aware there is no air conditioning in the car so it is madly hot in there
also, the whole route is literally at the edge of the abyss !
one wrong move, one wrong second in this old car and you are in the canyon, no one told us it was going to be this dangerous.
and the biggest problem that we had -
the guide said we should drive really slow (otherwise we all would die or break the car down), guide said he would wait for any of us , but when the road was too dangerous and we drove slowly, no one waited for us! our car and one other car got lost in a canyon with no network signal! with no information where to go! with no guide !
no one waited for us and we had to go back and forth in order to find the ride way and our irresponsible guide. his name is Artem by the way.
we have never seen such irresponsibility.
there were people with a fear of height (actually the road is so dangerous, everyone was madly scared) and the guide did not even think he had to wait for us and check if everyone is on their place
crazy dangerous and stupid experience .
we loved the views but noting was worth the whole stress we had because of this weirdly behaving guide.

Tours like this are expected to be a little cheesy, but this was cheesy in the good way and in the literal way! Our driver understood what everyone wanted, a fun time, some laughs, some cool facts, a unique experience, and lots of pictures to take the memory home with us.

The jeeps were a bit old, and definitely smaller than what you'd think, but very cool to drive with the top down. Manual transmission, so neither of us Americans could drive. Make sure to specify when booking.

The gorge was amazing, and it was so much fun to drive through. The beach was pebbles rather than sand, so make sure to bring shoes you don't mind at the beach. There were some stops where sneakers were helpful for a 2-3 minute hike off the road, so we brought both sneakers and flip flops. Definitely plan to go swimming, the water is so clear and refreshing in the summer. We brought a towel and swimsuits. There is a place to change and you can leave everything in the jeeps so don't worry about lugging things around.

The goats and shepherd were so much fun and very hands on. Great for kids and adults that love animals. The goats on the southern part of the island are unique and mostly free range, so you will see them everywhere with their bells clanging. The goat cheese was delicious and we went back for seconds!

Thank you so much for this experience, we couldn't have asked for a better time.

It's the best excursion, real interesting adventure! The guide was great! There is beautyfull and wild nature. Very taste lunch and great meeting with local family.

That was awesome! It’s not just a safari, this is the part of spirit of Crete and Greece itself! We drove through all the island to the places where just locals live and enjoyed this vibe all the day. Thank you Tez Tour for such an incredible experience and excursion!
